3 Cups is my version of Cheers—a place where everybody knows your name (or at least a version that’s easier to write!).šŸ˜‰ They call me Mary, and I love it—it’s become part of the charm and the feeling of belonging that this space holds. Every time I walk in and see Joey, I feel immediate ease and happiness.šŸ¤— Joey is the best! šŸ”„šŸ’Æ Joey deserves a raise and lots of praise! He brings the energy! ✨ I’ve been coming here for years while writing my dissertation, and 3 Cups has been my safe haven through it all—especially as I’ve written about grieving the loss of my child. There aren’t many public places where you can feel safe and grounded enough to sit with that kind of grief, but this space holds me gently every time.✨ The sunshine, the light through the windows, the vibe—it’s unmatched. Cozy, soulful, healing.ā˜€ļøšŸ˜ŽšŸ¤© Thank you for being the sunshine on so many of my days. I truly love this space! šŸ™šŸ½šŸ„°

Brunch @3_cups_coffee in Holladay! Such a cute coffee shop with tons of yummy treats in addition to their great drinks! The $5 Mimosas were a must but sell out quickly, so get there early!! 怋怋 I ordered the Seasonal Toast which has Burrata, Fresh tomatoes & Basil then drizzled with Balsamic Reduction. I also tried the Smorrbrod which is crisp bread served with their daily egg salad. 怊怊 The Seasonal Toast was SO tasty! The Burrata was perfectly creamy with bright Basil and Balsamic. The Smorrbrod with delish! Loved the addition of the capers and the olive oil drizzled crisp bread.

Felt like I was in a new modern coffee shop based in Northern Europe. Had the Golden Milk Latte, Double IPA, and Egg Salad Smoorebord (I think that’s close to how they spelt it 😩) Golden Milk was perfectly balanced and not too strong and my boyfriend loved the double IPA. The Egg Salad but as someone who grew up eating it, I was hoping for a little more spice, texture, and overall oomf. Though, this definitely won’t stop me from going to check them out sometime soon to have their build your own cheese & meat board!

We had a dinner reservation at another restaurant for 8:15 so we decided to stop in for a glass of wine while we waited. The website said there was live music from 7-10 so we assumed there would be no issue arriving at 6:30. We had the rudest person helping us. We ordered a couple glasses of wine along with biscotti (stale) and gelato that was half melted. We were also told the charcuterie can’t be made vegetarian which was honestly no big deal but just fyi for any vegetarians out there. I was already upset for the rude service we received. I am a lifelong retail worker so I get bad days but it seemed like she was upset to even have to help us. We took our food and drink outside and when I tried to go back in to use the restroom WE WERE LOCKED OUT. I knocked on the door and asked why we were locked out and she said that because she was working by herself the shop was closing at 7. IT WAS 6:45. We told her we didn’t know as the website said there would be live music from 7-10 and she said they needed to update that as that was only for summer. Still why were we locked out without even being told we were getting locked out. I asked where the bathrooms were and again she pointed and rolled her eyes at me.

Here’s the reality. I have a pretty aggressive form of cancer and recently underwent a bone marrow transplant. I don’t venture out much and this night was one of my first nights out and about and this was experience. We both stayed kind to the person working because you never know what people may be going through and she doesn’t deserve poor treatment. But neither do I. I live walking distance from this shop (we walked down there last night) but I will NEVER EVER come back and will tell anyone who listens to...

Soooo, I’m torn because their gelato was legit 5+ stars. The pistachio is off the rails. The place is super modern, clean and a great little shop ...but all my many years of drinking Mediterranean (Italian) style espresso, I have never had less enjoyable coffee. My drink is simple: Dark (French or Italian) roast coffee with shots of espresso, a simple drink you can get at any legit espresso house, called a ā€œshot in the darkā€ or a ā€œblack eyeā€. They informed me they don’t ever have French roast or Italian roast. Their darkest roast is a medium. ...and the coffee they made me was 5x more bitter than my normal B&Bs coffee. It was so bitter, it almost transcended into tangy-sweet. Coffee should never taste like that. It is clear that some ppl who have given that coffee good reviews simply has no idea what good coffee should taste like. How do I know what good coffee tastes like? Plenty of good local examples: Millcreek Roasters’ dark tastes like Italian coffee, Beans & Brews French roast is insanely good, and even Starbucks does a great pour-over of Italian or Verona dark roast. It’s a shame because the people working here are super nice and hardworking, the gelato is amazing, bakery was great, location and design is modern and cozy. The only thing missing at this coffee shop? Good coffee. ...you guys REALLY need a good dark French/Italian roast brewed all day. Lmk when you get the coffee part of your coffee shop right. I would love to spend more time here. Sadly, I just can’t. ...unless I’m...

Coffee: 8/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Wi-Fi Reliability: 9/10 Outlet Availability: 5/10 Chocolate-chip Cookie: 10/10

The space here is honestly great for hanging out—lots of natural light from East and west, plus white walls to reflect the light and make the whole place feel awesome, so the place feels good all day. It’s just a bit too small for its own popularity. The majority of seats don’t have outlet access, so everyone is always eyeballing the booths, which do, and having their stuff ready to snag one when someone else leaves. I’ve had to slouch over a footstool in the booth by the west window multiple times just to get an outlet. So it feels stressful and like a rat race at times, which I don’t love.

The coffee is good, consistently so. Their pour over comes in this little insulated carafe that is probably the most frustrating thing about the place—even more than the outlet situation (and that’s saying something). It’s nice that it keeps the coffee warm, but that thing has the least-efficient spout I have ever encountered and it drives me nuts. It used to be filled with enough coffee to fill up the cup three times, so I thought that’s where their name came from because that’s a sweet idea, but now it only gives you two cups of coffee. So they’re either planning on a name change or just giving people less coffee.

I always try the chocolate chip cookie when I go to new places and I’m happy to say that theirs is the best I’ve had in Utah. Absolutely phenomenal chocolate...
