We had a dinner reservation at another restaurant for 8:15 so we decided to stop in for a glass of wine while we waited. The website said there was live music from 7-10 so we assumed there would be no issue arriving at 6:30. We had the rudest person helping us. We ordered a couple glasses of wine along with biscotti (stale) and gelato that was half melted. We were also told the charcuterie canāt be made vegetarian which was honestly no big deal but just fyi for any vegetarians out there. I was already upset for the rude service we received. I am a lifelong retail worker so I get bad days but it seemed like she was upset to even have to help us. We took our food and drink outside and when I tried to go back in to use the restroom WE WERE LOCKED OUT. I knocked on the door and asked why we were locked out and she said that because she was working by herself the shop was closing at 7. IT WAS 6:45. We told her we didnāt know as the website said there would be live music from 7-10 and she said they needed to update that as that was only for summer. Still why were we locked out without even being told we were getting locked out. I asked where the bathrooms were and again she pointed and rolled her eyes at me.
Hereās the reality. I have a pretty aggressive form of cancer and recently underwent a bone marrow transplant. I donāt venture out much and this night was one of my first nights out and about and this was experience. We both stayed kind to the person working because you never know what people may be going through and she doesnāt deserve poor treatment. But neither do I. I live walking distance from this shop (we walked down there last night) but I will NEVER EVER come back and will tell anyone who listens to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSoooo, Iām torn because their gelato was legit 5+ stars. The pistachio is off the rails. The place is super modern, clean and a great little shop ...but all my many years of drinking Mediterranean (Italian) style espresso, I have never had less enjoyable coffee. My drink is simple: Dark (French or Italian) roast coffee with shots of espresso, a simple drink you can get at any legit espresso house, called a āshot in the darkā or a āblack eyeā. They informed me they donāt ever have French roast or Italian roast. Their darkest roast is a medium. ...and the coffee they made me was 5x more bitter than my normal B&Bs coffee. It was so bitter, it almost transcended into tangy-sweet. Coffee should never taste like that. It is clear that some ppl who have given that coffee good reviews simply has no idea what good coffee should taste like. How do I know what good coffee tastes like? Plenty of good local examples: Millcreek Roastersā dark tastes like Italian coffee, Beans & Brews French roast is insanely good, and even Starbucks does a great pour-over of Italian or Verona dark roast. Itās a shame because the people working here are super nice and hardworking, the gelato is amazing, bakery was great, location and design is modern and cozy. The only thing missing at this coffee shop? Good coffee. ...you guys REALLY need a good dark French/Italian roast brewed all day. Lmk when you get the coffee part of your coffee shop right. I would love to spend more time here. Sadly, I just canāt. ...unless Iām...

The space here is honestly great for hanging outālots of natural light from East and west, plus white walls to reflect the light and make the whole place feel awesome, so the place feels good all day. Itās just a bit too small for its own popularity. The majority of seats donāt have outlet access, so everyone is always eyeballing the booths, which do, and having their stuff ready to snag one when someone else leaves. Iāve had to slouch over a footstool in the booth by the west window multiple times just to get an outlet. So it feels stressful and like a rat race at times, which I donāt love.
The coffee is good, consistently so. Their pour over comes in this little insulated carafe that is probably the most frustrating thing about the placeāeven more than the outlet situation (and thatās saying something). Itās nice that it keeps the coffee warm, but that thing has the least-efficient spout I have ever encountered and it drives me nuts. It used to be filled with enough coffee to fill up the cup three times, so I thought thatās where their name came from because thatās a sweet idea, but now it only gives you two cups of coffee. So theyāre either planning on a name change or just giving people less coffee.
I always try the chocolate chip cookie when I go to new places and Iām happy to say that theirs is the best Iāve had in Utah. Absolutely phenomenal chocolate...
