In brief: Great hole in the wall. Owners are great people! Pride themselves on the authenticity of the product in their shop, gelato, cannoli, etc. You can taste the quality. This small shop knocked out over 20 customers in less than 10 minutes. Quick, inexpensive, quality.

In detail: Great flavor, creamy, rich and crisp! When you look for authentic, this is it. Sweetaly seems to pride itself in bringing in authentic, natural product from Italy. The owners (we met Francesco) are Italian and are proud to represent the beauty of their country through this dessert. We took the whole family and enjoyed the authentic Italian gelato here. The family and people who work and own this place are great people. I would recommend anything with the dark chocolate! I personally got the Kinder with Dark Chocolate. The Salted Caramel is excellent as well. The cakes on display look amazing! Very talented bakery head, you will not be disappointed.

The gelato seems like it is emptied out daily due to the customer traffic! This tells me it is maintained and fresh. This location is clean, definitely a hole in the wall as far as location goes. Of course, in Salt Lake, those are the best :) If you have not gone, try it out please! I ordered a wedding cake from Sweetaly Gelato and was thoroughly disappointed in what was delivered. The cake was ordered and paid for in advanced and I was told they would contact me the week before to verify everything was in place. I never heard from them and after days of attempting to call them we drove 1 hour to make sure things were in place. When it came time for delivery the cake was late, and unfortunately one tier too short. I ordered a 5 tier cake and only received 4. The cake was delivered with cracks all over and looked terrible. The florist from Modern Display as well as a few other wedding professionals were appauled that that's how they delivered the cake. The lady who delivered it was frantic and patched 2 cracks and left. We proceeded to call the bakery immediately to inform them of the issue and they told us they would resolve the issue. After two months of trying to get something solved that we paid good money for we were told they would refund the cake. I was told on two different occasions a check was sent. After a while of not seeing any money we called and they said someone cashed the check. I honestly believe they never sent the check. Francesco made us feel so welcomed, he answered all of our questions and made us feel part of his culture too!

We tasted a few of their cakes and they were all heavenly! I learned about Mascarpone (Italian cream cheese) and I cannot wait to serve their cake at our wedding reception!

Not only left the store happy knowing I’m paying for such an exquisite cake at a very inexpensive price, but I couldn’t leave without trying their gelato. It is definitely the best gelato I’ve ever had, hazelnut was definitely my favorite hands down!
