Ventured here on a Tuesday evening, when it was not busy at all, trusting their 4 star rating, they still could not manage a decent level of service. Some things that contributed to our 1-star experience were:

  1. Waiter had absolutely zero clue about what is available in the kitchen and what not, which is critical as they did not have half the items we wanted to order.
  2. They took our order and when they served us, they just didn't bring some of the items.
  3. When we asked, the manager told us to just forget about what we ordered, and then the waiter and the manager started arguing. The waiter complained that they never tell him anything about what's in the kitchen. Can you please just apologise and sort it out later amongst yourselves!
  4. I don't know what passes for Indian food in this area, but that was the worst Indian food I have had in the US. Absolutely not spicy, a tad sweet, and they forgot to add salt to any of the dishes. The chicken also seemed hard and dry.
  5. Even with only 2-3 tables occupied, they still managed to check up on us not even once. We wanted to get out ASAP, but they were nowhere to be found to give us the check.
  6. It's been just 2 hours since our dinner, and one of our friends already has an upset stomach.

I always make a point to tip generously as any one member of staff can have a bad day, but it takes real effort for every member of the staff to come together and make your experience truly terrible. Could not justify even 5% tip, as that would be unfair to other members of the industry who at least make an effort.

Never coming back to...

Updated Review, February 6, 2025: Came back for a second visit, and there has been a terrible change in quality and service. We were one of only four tables seated on a Thursday evening. The service was very slow, and the order arrived incorrect. The food quality has also gone downhill. Undercooked appetizer, and the curry was subpar at best. Water glass wasn't properly rinsed and could taste the soap still in it. Our curry had little meat, and it was clearly left-over, low-quality chicken. My friend even found lamb in his chicken curry!

Not sure what has changed in the past month, but it was a terrible experience and we won't be returning for a 3rd visit.

January 7, 2025: Hands down, the best Indian Restaurant in Salt Lake! The service, the food, the atmosphere are all exceptional!

This place now has the best Saag in Utah. They make it proper, creamy, and well blended. The naan is fluffy and cooked just right. The Madras and Makhani were excellent. The spice levels are spot on. If you can't handle heat, only order mild.

Holy cow, the Gohbi Manchurian was cooked perfectly, and had just the right amount of sauce on it. The Samosa were also excellent! Can't wait to come back and try the Dosa! Yes, they have Dosa on the menu! And the price...

Friendly, but slow service. My Chicken Korma was way too spicy for having requested mild! Couldn't really taste the coconut or other flavors.

My wife's Chicken Tikka Masala was very flavorful and delicious. Better than most I thought, but my wife still favors Bombay House's.

My Daughter had the Madras Curry and it was good, but I've tasted better.

The complimentary mango mousse was very good. I think they gave us this because I told them ny entree was way too spicy; we didn't order it. So that was a nice gesture.

Their naan bread was anemic and portions were meager. I had the butter naan. Wife and daughter had the garlic naan.

The samosa appetizer was delicious and on par with Bombay House's.

Their Pani Poori appetizer was very flavorful and unique for Indian cuisine.

They have a number of less traditional Indian cuisine entrees on the menu so this would be a nice place for a larger group with some who may not favor hardcore Indian cuisine.

It took a while for the entrees to arrive but that was not unusual. But it took way too long to get the check and pay. We waited 20 minutes for this despite several hints to speed things up.

Prices are about normal for this type of dinner. Not...

ABSOLUTELY LOVED the atmosphere, interior, setting, service and the food!!! The service is very friendly. We came for a community event; at least 35-45 people in our group, and the staffs gave their full attentions! The dishes were refilled quickly at the buffet tables, our glasses never ran out of waters ;) , they removed the used plates/utensils/glasses from our tables right away. All the items were very fresh & delicious. The mango lassi and chai were spot on too. It was my first time at this location (I'm a regular customer at their 3300 S location) and I am going to come back for sure!

This was our first time eating inside the restaurant (we ordered delivery more than a year ago). We had the plain naan bread with mint chutney, tikka masala and coconut korma with lamb. Some pieces of the lamb were gristly, but the sauce flavors were very good. We ordered medium spice which was a bit too hot for me so next time I’ll order something between mild and medium. They gave us free desert, which was some type of ice cream. It really helped us cool down after eating the spicy food. The service was very good and the restaurant was very clean inside.
