I just want to verify that this review is for the Cakabakery in HOLLAND, not Grand Rapids.. First off, I sent a picture to them of an ombre colored cake with buttercream frosting. They said they would for sure be able to make it exactly like the picture.. I suppose I should have double checked it would be made with frosting instead of fondant. The cake was not done by 10am like they had told me it would be. They made us come back at noon. Fine. No big deal. When it was picked up and delivered to me, the fondant looked so messily put together. I understand that there will be "seams" where the fondant is put together, but they could have lined up all the seams in the back. It didnt matter what way I turned the cake. There was always seams showing. Whatever. I was over the appearance of the cake. Now to the cake cutting.. As soon as I sunk the knife into the cake to cut my first slice, the fondant just started to FALL OFF!! Are you kidding me?! It was the hardest cake I've ever tried to cut in my life. Disaster. So we managed to cut the cake and hand out to all my guests. My husband and I took one bite and threw it away. Neither of us like fondant. Probably my fault for not specifying to not use it. Then, we noticed everyone else throwing their cake in the garbage! There was cake left on almost every table. I then started to get comments that the cake was "not good". A few people actually told me there were "pockets" of flour in their actual cake! I was mortified & embarrassed. The cake is everything at a wedding. I actaually bake and decorate cakes at home & was talked out of making my own wedding cake by my husband. I wish I would have not listened to him. I was left with the entire bottom (12 inch round) layer of the cake AND an entire 1/2 sheet cake that they told me I'd need for the amount of people that were at my wedding! I'm telling you. I couldn't give away that cake. I had to throw away half my wedding cake that I spent pointless money on. I tried being nice & just let them know what happened and I never recieved an email or call back..its been...

GROGU CAKE (Baby Yoda) My son had his first birthday this March and I wanted it to be memorable, not only because it was his only first birthday, but because of the quarantine status. The bakers and cake decorators did such a good job bringing my idea to life!
GAME OF THRONES CAKE (Mother of Dragons) This is a cake for my mom for Mother's Day. I gave ideas to what I would love the cake to look like and the cake turned out so amazingly perfect...I was speechless! I know my mom will love it!
GARDENING CAKE this is a cake for my bf's mom for Mother's Day. I found a gardening cake picture online and it was exactly what I pictured for her. All of the little gardening elements are perfect and I couldn't have gotten it any better anywhere else!

Read moreI was a loyal customer for 5 years and received the worst customer service I’ve ever had at any business. I showed up to pick up my cake I ordered a month in advance for a party I was having the next afternoon. I was told they had already made it 2 weeks earlier and that I never picked it up. Even though my email clearly stated the date I needed it. They then said they called me and left a voicemail in which I responded to I didn’t get either. She then told me I was wrong that she did call instead of just taking a step back to make sure she called the correct number. After she basically called me a lair she then told me she’d make me something else just not the one I wanted cause she didn’t have time. In which I was already pretty upset with being blamed and made out to be a lair I declined. We then exchanged several emails in which they still kept playing the victim in me “ wasting ingredients and labor “ while I was out a cake. With no...
