The proprietor tried very hard, and was very attentive. The food was fresh and hot and presented nicely, but was very spicy for us, with more heat than flavor. As much as we like to support small businesses, I don't think we will be back. 😬

Delicious food and authentic atmosphere. I felt like I was at my abuelitas casa even though I don't have one. Got a wet chicken burrito. It was great and very filling. I am stuffed and happy. Also it was cheap.

We stopped for lunch and it was a pleasant surprise! The food was Great. We had conversations with the kind and humble owner. We will definitely return to try more dishes from the menu.

This Mexican food gem is tucked away by the train tracks in an industrial area across from the fire station. The warm and home made chips and salsa were a great start. The food was fantastic, served hot, and with friendly service. I tried the green enchiladas with rice and beans and the flavor was just right. Just a bit on the spicy side. Not complaining just warning the weak mouths out there. The wife had the garnachas, a tortilla topped with loads of yummy food in your choice of green or red sauce. She said the red is not as spicy as the green.

The owner told us that he's been in business for over ten years. The quality and wonderful taste confirms it. This was our second visit and sure to return for more.

Update: Third visit. Tried the super burrito with carne asada topped with red sauce and cheese. OMG, it's huge. I added a photo. Great flavor as usual. The usual beans are black and the rice is usually mushy. I like it that way although it deviates from the standard beans at other Mexican places.

Update: Fourth visit had the bistec rojo. Thin cut pieces of steak with slightly spicy red sauce and potatoes served with rice and beans....

We arrived as a group of 11. 3 families total, all from different areas, none local to Hollister. The owner greeted us immediately, arranged the tables to fit our party, and started service right-away with chips and delicious homemade salsa. The restaurant style is very humble and rustic, resembling many old homes/restaurants in Mexico, but don't be deterred. The owner is warm and inviting, happy to discuss his plants and the business they have had for 18 years! The food took longer than expected, but the owner made up for it by continuing to provide drinks and chips. But when the food arrived... just WOW! Our party had menudo, enchiladas de mole, chilquiles rojos, bistec rancho, a burrito, and tacos. Every single person loved the meal. Not one SINGLE complaint. This is the quality Mexican food you always hope for but rarely find. Recommend this restaurant...

Dropped in for dinner....it was great!! They only accept cash....small inconvenience...it's a one man show...the owner...Antonio....was the server and went out of his way to get us what ever we needed. He actually made 3 different salsas for us till we found one we like. I ordered a chili relleno...it was perfect...just like my mom would make me. The black refried beans were also very delicious...and I never used to like them. The wife had cheese enchiladas...very tasty. And best of all?.....iced mugs for the beer!!! Antonio was very gracious. We talked for awhile. We will...
