Heidy’s Coffee — Restaurant in Hollister

When we first started coming here the food was really good. Last few times not so much and today was the last time. The veggie soup was all potatoes with a few carrots and no other vegetables to be seen. I told the waitress I couldn't eat it but before I could finish my sentence, she walked away and didn't check on us the rest of the time we were there. The side salad was mostly carrots. The ceasar salad was drenched in dressing. The BLT was ok, nothing special and didn't expect it to be. The place is small and when we asked for the check was ignored until we asked again when she walked by. Pretty sure she heard the first request but I'll let that go I guess. If you use a card, there is about a $0.30 up charge on every item ordered and not the usual fee per swip. Bring cash if you don't want to pay the up fee. Time before last things were cold and orders not correct. They did try to make it right by bring the things missing in the omelet out on a separate plate. But just not the same as when cooked in. I went there yesterday for the first time. No one was in a hurry to take our order.When I did order, I ordered the breakfast burrito. I was served a burrito with sausage in it. No where in the menu description did it say sausage was in it. In fact it said “ choice of meat” which I chose something else. It was FULL of link sausage, which I don’t like and didn’t want. I could not eat any of it. My husband ordered a dish with hash browns extra crispy- They were barely warm. His sourdough toast he ordered, never came. This is definitely a must go if you are in Hollister area, a place that you would love to go back , the food and service is really good , we had cafe de olla and we loved it, tasty food “chile verde “ on point! Pancakes with the strawberry jam that you can tell is “home made “ enhanced the flavor! My husband tried the “huevos rancheros “the waitress recommended and he love them.
