Brought my family here to celebrate our first teenage birthday. We had celebrated a birthday a few years back at an Uncle Buck's in Colorado Springs and were so excited to find one within an hour of us in our new state. We came to bowl and ride go-carts on the Fun Mountain side of the resort, but this review will be strictly on the bowling portion of our experience.
As per usual Uncle Buck's fashion, the atmosphere was on par. We got there just as they opened at 11:00 am and the place was immaculately clean.
The front desk sells the Fun Mountain cards, which you load with money and allows you to do all the on-site activities you want with a swipe of a card.
Once you load your card, you walk around to the back of the front desk to reserve your lane and order your shoe rentals. We only wanted an hour of lane time and had six players. Since our lane was already open, our time started the moment they swiped our card. This is my biggest PROBLEM with this location.
By the time everyone got their shoes, tried them on, traded for a size up or down, found an acceptable ball weight and size, ran to the bathroom and logged our names into the lane, we had already lost 10-15 minutes of our lane time. Every other bowling location allows you time to get settled in and log your names in AND THEN starts your timer.
We had to rush through the last few frames in order to finish our game before our time ran out and that was a tad frustrating, especially to my bowling league champion dad, who is in his retirement years now and was looking forward to playing a game again after all these years.
Overall, the place has the signature atmosphere. It is clean and they're maintaining the lanes very nicely. Our lane was not equipped with pop-up gutter guards, so ask for that when you reserve your lane. The lanes we did see gutter guards on were fixed, so keep that in mind as well. Due to the time starting as we were given a lane, I'd also suggest reserving an hour over the number of games you plan to play if you prefer a leisurely playing...
Read moreThis place piqued my interest. Then I showed up to find that the dishes I went to eat and were showing on google they didn’t actually serve. Waitstaff was friendly. That’s the only good thing I really have to say about this place. Well and restrooms were clean. The food is absolutely not good. In my opinion price to dish ration is totally not worth it. The facility is fancy looking and the arcade/bowling/go kart etc might be the main objective here. I feel they are trying to make underwhelming dishes look fancy with garnishes and tacking on a super high price that makes zero sense to me at all. Maybe because it’s “Branson”. I ordered the steak sandwich and it was a KcBS strip that was overly dry with a spring mix on a French roll. Don’t waste your time on this dish. Someone needs to learn how to prepare a steak. Fish and chips was also ordered and it came portions large just basic fried food. Nothing special. My 9 year old can make the same stuff by herself in the air fryer from my freezer. All in all this place is what it is. Typical family arcade pretending to offer a fine dining experience while they should really be just making pizzas and hot wings for all the arcade goers like most of the other chains who do this same business model do. Probably won’t because it’s “Branson” lol!
Personally don’t waste your time with the food. Maybe just bowl and race slow go karts. I dunno but I know I’ll never go...
Read moreOk an update 2 years later 3/2023. One of the best burgers I have ever had. In my top 5 best burgers now. I had the Dogwood Farms Jalapeño Bison Burger. It was a 9 out of 10. The only issue was no heat from the jalapeño. The flavor was great and the burger was huge. The balance between burger, toppings and bun were spot on. One of the few times I didn’t finish. The fries were awesome as well. Thick crispy fries with a soft inside. A bit pricy but absolutely worth it. Service is very good but a bit slow. I think they cover a large area inside and out. Rest of party had a Cobb Salad and she said was really good. The a couple split the Cheesesteak Sandwich and was very good.
Pretty pricey but I think a lot of places at Big Cedar and Branson are priced for tourism. Our table of four had the NYC pizza, fish and chips, chicken tenders and Wings. The pizza was just warming, I think Knut waited a bit. The longer we had the less I liked it. The chicken tenders and fries were very good. A decent size portion but very pricey. The fish was really good but again pricey. I did not try the wings but they did look good. The person thought they were pretty spicy and he had ordered mild. But other than that they were good. So overall it was ok. If the pizza had been hot I would have been really happy. All that with 4 waters cost about $86 plus tip. So would I come back? Maybe but there are many other places I...
