I consistently visit Vicky Bakery in Homestead, and it is an absolute delight everyime! It's become my go to for cafe con leche and pastries. The selection of pastries, sandwiches, and cakes are both impressive and mouthwatering.
What really stood out, though, was the cakes and their attention to detail. You could tell everything was made with love and care. I use to order custom cakes from a private vendor. Unfortunately, this person stop making cakes due to a personal matter. I had to transition to Publix cakes but yearned to have a moist cake that had that custom baker feel. Im not knocking Publix but those who order custom cakes know what I am talkin about. Since the firat cake, I ordered there I have been hooked. We have purchased cakes for birthdays, Thankgiving, and other family events. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying an absolutely fantastic birthday cakes, and it truly made the celebration unforgettable! The cakes were a perfect blend of moist, fluffy layers with just the right amount of sweetness. The frosting was creamy and not too heavy, with a delicate flavor that complemented the cake perfectly. The decoration was beautiful and detailed, giving the whole dessert a personal touch. It was evident that a lot of care and attention to detail went into making this cake, from the texture to the flavor. Every bite was delicious, and it was a big hit with all the guests. Highly recommend for anyone looking to make their special day even sweeter!
The staff is friendly and eager to help with suggestions and offer their latest creations i.e. the flan cheesecake they had for the holiday. It’s clear they take pride in their craft. A shoutout to Lily for always being helpful and attentive. She has made our experience their truly special.
The atmosphere of the bakery is welcoming, making it the perfect spot for enjoying a cup of coffee and a pastry or picking up treats to take home. I will definitely be returning for more delicious goodies and highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates high-quality, freshly baked treats!
Lastly, the croqueta preparada is the bomb. Please try it. I would go on but you would lose...
Read moreI received the most horrible service ever at the bakery last Saturday. Rude female worker who took my order for a small birthday cake they had on display, literally ran to the back after I pointed at the cake I wanted to purchase and brings the cake back approx 10 minutes later with “Happy Birthday” written in it in huge ugly writing. She didn’t even ask me what’s the birthday person’s name to be written in it, nor the color to use to write it. The birthday person was a little girl, so I picked a PINK cake, but the rude store attendant wrote “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” IN BLUE writing. Not to mention that she did not leave any room to write the name on the cake after she wrote “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” only and took up the whole cake space. I thought she was going to do the right thing which would have been giving me another cake so she can have space to include the birthday girl’s name… But of course SHE DIDN’T. She just took it upon herself to SQUEEZE the 8 letters name all the way on the birthday (so small that the name wasn’t even legible). Last but not least, I paid for birthday candles and she did not give me the damn candles. I had to drive back to the bakery (after delivering the cake to the birthday party) to get the candles I paid for. Last but not least. She was so unprofessional and rude. At no time she apologized to her wrongdoing. The whole time she had an attitude. If she doesn’t like her job and she can’t even do it correctly, she should just quit. They lost a loyal customer. I’ll be going to...
Read moreI’ve been going to Vicky Bakery since I was a kid. Every time I come to Miami I stop by one of their locations. I was so happy when I found out that this location opened up right around my mother in laws house.
We ordered some pastelitos (not pictured) a croqueta preparada and pan con bistec. As usual the food was delicious and did not disappoint.
The location had a very cozy area where you could sit and enjoy your meal. It was clean and there was plenty of dessert options.
The only reason I gave it a 4 star review instead of a 5 is because the order/pay/pick up set up is a bit confusing and honestly a lot of steps.
You walk in and order, then you are asked to step aside. They call your name at a back counter and you pay and asked to once again step aside and wait until your order is ready. In my opinion it’s to many steps. All other locations I’ve visited you order and pay in the same register, then you step aside and wait for your order to be ready. Not sure why we can’t pay for our order in the first register.
Regardless of this issue, I will continue to visit because the food is worth it. I am hoping they open up locations in...
