Let's start off with the Front Desk Manager Willie Lee with his nasty energies and unexceptable horrible customer service skills... Marriot, Hilton is surpassing your customer services by far and knowing it's coming from managers is the worst part. The rooms have no bedding covers for the mattresses. Needs the carpet stripped, couches removed and updated. Clean room and that definitely made the difference of staying vs not. Mr.Willie Lee should take courses on attitude and customer service before being in charge of Customers and staff.... we all may jave bad days but that where you learn to leave thwm at the door before work... Now the front desk clerk that was checking me in with no name tag 👏🏼 thank you for your kindness and not following your managers lead. Can't use the pool due to them not being in compliance (neither is your customer support) smells like chemicals all in the lobby, broken elevator. Let's see what else goes right with this place 😬
Update: Eddie at the front desk was so super sweet when I stopped by to check on having the ability to check out a day early. Unfortunately, she did tell me I could and had me all set up to check out a day early. Come to find out the next day afyer she told me this, that wasn't done! Disappointed I was told one thing to be told the following day that wasn't possible. The older gentleman in maintenance was sent to fix the toilet and couldn't understand a word I said so their was no point in sending him. I just had to latch the chain back myself when I saw that's what was wrong bc he couldn't understand English neither could house service when I needed tissue paper took about 10 mins just to get tissue paper from her. Mr. Willie Lee's attitude changed during my stay which I truly appreciate. I've been in customer service for well over 20 years so I hold a high standard I can admit but I don't expect what I am not willing to give. Maybe he was having a bad day which we're all entitled to but you have to learn to leave that at the door when it's how you pay your bills and provide for your family. Thank you for the change of attitude. It's more than appreciated and...
Read moreAfter checking in I went to get dinner close by. I came back around 9pm and there was no parking. A hotel employee had parked a golf cart in the spot were I had previously parked and there was no parking available. Several guests had trailers with boats taking up many parking spots. I called the front desk and he told me to park along the back wall behind the hotel. I told him if I parked parallel most likely someone would back into my car since there was barely any space between the wall and the parking across the wall. If I parked along the wall I would have been blocking part of the lane as well. I drove around the property another 10 minutes and decided to go speak to the front desk. He gave me a map and told me to park in the parking lot next to the hotel. When I looked at the map I realized it was the parking lot that belonged to a hospital building and was quite a distance away. It would have meant that I would have to walk late at night with my 12 year old daughter across a 2 way street about 1 block away. I booked this hotel because I was concerned about the area and wanted a safe place to stay. I had to call the hotel once again and explain that I did not feel safe and that it was not acceptable that they would rent a room without a parking spot. I explained that the spot I was in had been taken by a hotel golf cart and there were many spots taken up by boats. The front desk told me he would have the employee move the cart. I was finally able to park after a 45 minute ordeal. I am extremely disappointed and believe that you should not rent a hotel room without a parking spot. I also believe that guests should not be told to park in a medical building...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed two nights here, 11/11-13/2021, and we absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing, which can make all the difference. In particular, the staff at the hotel restaurant, the Bistro, were phenomenal. We enjoyed many conversations with Rick, and he gave us some very useful advice for the area that we heeded. Our bar tender, Jose, was on point. Not only did he make us some great drinks both nights, including some new specials, but he was personable and attentive, addressing our needs with just the right amount of conversation. Excellent service.
As far as the room itself, we opted for just a room - no need for suite when you don't plan to spend much time there - but it was still nice with the bed, couch, TV, and desk without being too crowded, plus the attached bathroom was laid out to appear spacious as well. Although the mattress was a bit firm for my sleep preferences, it was still fairly comfortable, as was the couch.
The hotel was situated such that it was easily accessible to other locations, i.e. eateries, grocery stores, gas stations, etc., while still maintaining security. We felt comfortable there and didn't have to fear our belongings or vehicle (we rode our motorcycle out there) would be broken into or stolen. We found it to be a perfect location to be near enough to other locales for visiting, such as Miami and the Keys, without having to pay the costs associated with staying in such sought-after locations. Both are easily within driving distance, and we eventually found ourselves enjoying both...
