I finally was able to find this location after scrolling around in maps for days! I almost regretted not saving the location. Now I can give this place my earnest and enthusiastic review.
My friend and I went to this place after a trip to the springs on Labor Day. And we did not expect the experience that was comingn for us...
Before we even walked into the main entrance, a hostess intercepted us. "Seat two? Great right this way". Despite it being somewhat packed we were escorted to a very clean table amongst many. Minutes later we were greeted by a very pleasant server. And us being very hungry we immediately ordered our food.
We couldn't even manage a typical full conversation and an awkward hungry lull before food server arrived and served the appetizer (best and most consistent calamari btw) to us. And not long after our main meals. The server offered to grate some cheese or something. Intimidated by the excellent service, I'm like no thanks. I don't go to Olive Garden often. I look around and ask my friend are all Olive Gardens like this? I've never been fine dined to this extend before. He shakes his head in equal disbelief.
We ask for boxes to which the food server effortlessy does it for us. I mean I can do it myself, you're making me look lazy here but I'll take it! Probably did it cleaner than me anyway. The only hiccup of this experience is when I swiped the card on the kiosk by the table and it shut off. Doesn't matter, the server immediately comes, knows exactly what's going on and fixes it he issue. It's not like you're regular Walmart self checkout disaster. The total amount of time from my experience the error to finally getting my card to scan was so efficient he could've made a mistake 3 times and it still would've been a 4/5 service.
And on Labor Day!? Did you guys have an A-team this day or is it always like this? Overall, amazing experience. It is seriously a big contender for hole in the wall places next time I'm in this area. You guys are a paradigm of both restaurant and fast food...
Read moreAbout 10 years ago the OG stopped producing my favorite meal, Sausage and Peppers Rustica. Currently, Johnsonville sells Italian Hot/Mild links for about $1 per link at my store. Whereas the sausage OG has continued to offer remains shameful; inedible. This forced back to my original favorite, Fettuccine Alfredo. On 6 Jul 2025, took my mother to our sole/favorite OG; at Inverness, Fl. The last bastion of Alfedo sauce. Lamentations. Their sauce now, after watching it degrade for years, has become a joke ON par with other meaningless restaurants.
Also, their calamari was a disappointment. Lacking texture (cooked beyond "al Dente"), needing salt, and slightly over-breaded. Occasionally, we order two of these fan favorites for a five person group. I will give Inverness one more shot, only. After that, only visit OG when on vacation... expecting to be disappointed with lackluster Alfredo sauce.
Because the pasta is freshly made, we accept, but continue to mourn, the lack of "al Dente" pasta. .Granted using only semolina flour is the only hope of firm pasta; to my knowledge.
Because the FDA does not allow the use of fresh egg yolks to be combined with pasta in the US, pass on lesser Carbonara efforts, as true Carbonara imparts a golden hue over pasta, not bits of cooked egg. The FDA cannot ensure chefs rely solely on pasteurized eggs, avoiding salmonella concerns. Darn it.. I have asked if I can bring those eggs in for use; sorry insurance prohibits.
We live in Kings Bay, Ga area. My mother (YS) in Dunnellon, Fl. All in my party agreed to never return to City Station OG in North Jacksonville, Fl... after one visit. We have not tried the Brunswick, Ga OG yet. Perhaps for my son's...
Read moreWe were there taking my Granddaughter out to dinner for her birthday. The waitress we had was fantastic. She went above and beyond for us (and had no idea why we were really there) the food was great, came to us fast and we had an all around terrific time! At the end I informed her we would not be taking desert but that my Granddaughter would be because it was her birthday and she'd have it to go. When the waitress came back she had 3 others with her and presented my granddaughter with a little plate and a dollop of whipped cream with a lit candle in it and they sang Happy Birthday to her! They have no idea how great that made her day (and ours!!) Because this meal was a spur of the moment thing. I had asked my Granddaughter what she was doing for her birthday as I wanted to drop her gift off but she said she would be working and it was like any other day to her. She had been very depressed the last few weeks and just having a hard time. Being 16 going on 17 is a rough period in a young woman's life, I remember when I was that age! I took her out to eat as a small token to show her its not just any other day, she's much to young to be so sad and I hadn't been out with her for years. Her grandfather and her uncle who is a year younger than her joined us and we laughed hard and just had the best time. That waitress really put the cherry on top doing what she did and I will always be grateful to her for doing so! So if your ever in Inverness stop in for lunch or dinner, the portions are more than enough, its been great tasting and each time I go there is better than the last!...
