Finding a really good French bakery in Hawaii feels like I've won the jackpot. This little bakery in the heart of Manoa marketplace is an unexpected little gem that is worth the trip into the valley.
We tried the croissant and pane au chocolat and both were flakey, light and buttery - as in real butter! We also sampled a French / local fusion in the form of a pastry biscuit which was reminiscent of southern style biscuits, shortbread and scones.
Their bread selection looked great too and I'm Kicking myself that I didn't buy one of the mini cheesecakes.
Sizes of the products might be a little small for local expectations but after tasting what we purchased this is probably due to the high cost of the quality products used in their baking. You can certainly taste the difference and it's worth it!
In a nutshell this boulangerie uses real ingredients and well honed techniques to produce an outstanding product. We were so impressed we will be going back tomorrow for baguette and cheesecake to take...

Lilikoi cheesecake tasted just like a normal NY style cheesecake but was yummy nonetheless. The mango scone tasted just like a plain scone and the cranberry one was also very light, but both were fluffy inside with a crisp exterior.
