O-Bok is the only authentic Korean Restaurant that I know of in Manoa. The seaweed soup and banchan (side dishes) that accompany each course are great. I especially like their kimchi. I enjoy the relaxed, quiet, and nostalgic atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff, who I presume are owners, are also very nice. I always feel welcomed at this restaurant. I also feel like the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food there. So far, I’ve had the bibimguksul and the combination plate. Both plates were great. The bibimguksul was a little spicy for me however, yet very good. I should also mention that their mandoo is terrific. I like O-Bok enough to throw it into my regular lunch rotation. At the time of this writing, they are closed on Mondays.

Stopped by for lunch after Moana Waterfalls hike. Located in the nice little plaza, Moana Marketplace with plenty of parking. We had a bimbimbop and galbibtang. Both were fine, but not special. The galbitsng had an egg and some radish in it, which was a first for me, but they were fine. The kimchi, however, could use some improvement as it lacked the tastes that I’m used to.

I really enjoyed the food. We got a combo (combo D I think) and shared it between two people. Although the portion was a bit smaller than expected, it was quite good. I also really liked the side dishes which are pictured below. The cucumber one was so good! The food did take quite a bit to be served (it was 1pm), but there was only 1 person at the front.

I was a frequent patron of this restaurant. It has been difficult finding Korean food around my area and I really enjoyed O-Bok. I went in for lunch with my s/o— nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant was busier than usual. We did not expect stellar attendance by the one person working both the register and floor. It was busy and we were patient for our turn to order. However when she came around she was INCREDIBLY rude to us. As she took our order she scoffed and visibly rolled her eyes before completely ignoring us to go to another table. We were honestly taken aback and deeply uncomfortable. My s/o and I discussed ways we may have possibly offended her but she was very kind to everyone else. We did not want to confront her in fear of escalating the situation. It was a really awkward and tense lunch. I’m really really sad that this has ruined my experience here. I’m still not sure why we...

Update: So sad... It's under new ownership... Lots of changes...

Old review:

I'm so amazed this restaurant has been in the exact same location offering the same food for over 30 years! I grew up coming to this restaurant with friends & family as a weekly get together... 😊 Comfort food for sure! Kudos for consistency! Even the decor/wall paper is still the same! I Love it! ❤ Whenever I visit Oahu I try to make it in.

The spicy sauce on the table is a perennial favorite! 😊. Vegetarian friendly!

Food 4 (comfort food!) Service 4 Decor & Ambiance ...
