I can’t recommend New Kamana Kitchen enough! From the moment we walked in, the warm aroma of spices instantly set the tone for an amazing meal.
We started with drinks, a sweet lassi for me and a mango lassi for my girlfriend. Both were creamy, refreshing, and the perfect way to kick things off. For food, we ordered two garlic cheese naans, chicken tikka masala, and lamb curry. Everything came out quickly, piping hot, and packed with flavor. The naan was soft and cheesy, the chicken tikka masala was rich and perfectly spiced, and the lamb curry was tender with just the right amount of heat. You could really taste the quality in every dish.
But the real star of the night was our waiter Ali. Honestly, he made the whole experience unforgettable. He was not just attentive, he went above and beyond in every way. Ali was funny, engaging, and had us laughing the entire time with his jokes. He was interactive without ever being overbearing, making us feel like we were more than just customers. It is rare to find a waiter who not only does his job flawlessly but also makes dining out an experience in itself. Ali was super super funny and kept the vibe light and enjoyable the entire evening.
If you are looking for great Indian food in a welcoming atmosphere, New Kamana Kitchen is the spot. And if you are lucky enough to have Ali as your waiter, you are in for a treat. We are definitely...
Read moreDisappointing.
After much hope upon looking at the menu and seeing that it featured many of the regular items found in a traditional British Indian restaurant the actual food was disappointing.
The front of house staff were pleasant, no argument about that. However timings for food arrival was poor. Mango chutney should be served with the poppadoms not after they are eaten. The rice was dry and looked as though it had been cooked a day earlier. I had practically finished eating what I could, when finally my husband’s very burnt lamb kebab turned up. Staff had to be asked multiple times where his food was without a tangible answer. Thankfully the kind waiter didn’t charge us for the charcoal lumps. Despite asking for medium heat level the chana masala was incredibly spicy and the sauce was far too heavily spiced. This is not what Indian food is about. It’s about aroma and balance.
The restaurant’s ambience is lacking and could do with an authentic spruce up rather than a few posters and the previous diner effect uncomfortable seating and paint job.
So overall not a pleasant experience. We still live in hope that someone in Oahu will be able to offer a decent ‘Ruby!’ (Look up the term in a colloquial English...
Read moreI haven’t felt “family” or “guest” vibes in a restaurant in a long time. Let’s start with the baseboards were clean, the cracks of the booths were clean and in my 3 hours there the bathroom was cleaned twice. It’s not the fanciest place but I felt like I was in my auntie’s living room.
Everyone’s nice on this island, but this staff went up and beyond for me - I showed up mid day - hungry from work and loads of questions , battery on 2% and dietary restrictions. The young lady in the front desk charged my phone and suggested food that I can eat after really listening. The chef sent out samples of 2 variations to see which one I liked the best for my meal. That’s extra and I was embarrassed he did that at the beginning of a lunch rush. So concerned.
They put me in a booth for 1 by the window that resembled my desk at home, I was able to finish my work in peace while eating the most delicious eggplant dish. This post was mainly about the vibe but the food alone was solid and had real whole spices. Absolutely coming here again and taking out. I trust their cleanliness, the food slaps and is from whole ingredients and they’re...
