Make sure that you have about an hour to spend unnecessarily waiting for your food if you come here. The flavor is fine but, we had to watch several parties of people who arrived after us get their food and leave before us. We arrived at about 6:45 and stood in line to place an order (because they don't answer the phone or have online ordering) and we were told, "it's gonna be about 15 minutes.

At 7:20, we started to ask how much longer to be told, "they're working on it now, a couple more minutes."

7:40 comes up and we've gotta make some decisions. In fact, other people who ordered started advocating for us and telling the girls at the front, " I just wanna be sure they get their food." We told them to just refund us so we can go somewhere else and they give the same excuse.

One of the cooks walks up from the back to get something from the refrigerator and looks at my wife like he's mad that we're complaining. Really?

Almost 10 minutes later and they finally get the job done. They tried to throw a free horchata at us for the inconvenience but, didn't make any attempt to refund us. Apparently, there's some kind of huge issue if you order a churro and how they have to make it.

Since I was there for so long, I was able to see more than one door Dasher show up to pick up orders, and leave before us. It seems as though they just can't manage their kitchen over anything else. They're apparently taking door dash or other delivery orders online but, they don't offer the same system to everyone else. If they get more than 2-3 orders deep, it all goes to hell.

Management needs to get it together. We didn't end up eating our dinner until almost 9pm because of this, and I felt like we wasted $75. Word to the wise, it's...

If I could give them 0 ⭐s I would. I only have myself to blame. I don't know why I keep trying to eat here. They rarely have parking. If I'm in the neighborhood and parking isn't an issue, I have still never had an outstanding experience here. Their food is ok. It changes when different people are on staff. How do they never have Jamaica when it's on the menu? Why not have it as a special and erase it when it's out? Sometimes horchata, sometimes tamarindo... We don't even drive by here on Tuesday nights. UH kids are punks. So why are they out of chicken and beef at 7:15 when they're supposed to be open till 9? So disappointed. Maybe it would be better as a food truck. 40 minutes later and 3 other people's orders..No thanks for your patience. No apology for the wait or inconvenience. So rude for average food, that wasn't even what I originally ordered.

I don't eat pork. So after 40 min, and I changed my chicken to vegetables...I got pork. You have to be kidding me.

Update: When I told them I got pork instead of vegetables the response was -I can't see what's in the plates. - which is true, but not good customer service. To their credit, the cooks (who may or may not not know the difference between vegetables and pork) DID remember to hold the onions...

It's been years since I patronized this place and definitely not during Covid. My brother and I came on a whim on a Sunday morning. I was hoping for breakfast but we got there 15 minutes late and they said breakfast was over. I always have their nachos but I wanted something different today and therefore ordered the breaded fish tacos. I was excited to try them based on reviews but was sadly disappointed as the fish was cold. Maybe they were frozen prior I am not sure. I should've gone on taco Tuesday as I could've saved a few dollars. The coleslaw was overly wet and sweet. My brother had the beef burrito and was very happy with it considering he is a picky eater. We are both not fans of black beans but I tried his and they were extremely tasty so I finished them off for him. They give you a picture of water if you are eating there which was very much appreciated as we both drink a lot of water. Considering they are close to where I live I would go again but I would try something else. Service was OK and the food came out pretty quick. There are a lot of takeout orders. And the place gets busy during typical...

How this place has over 4 stars is beyond me. The food was cold, hard, and sooooo greasy. The fish from the fish tacos tasted like they were days old and had been refried a few times, my mouth hurt just chewing on them. The enchiladas were cold and the beef was hard and chewy. The “slippah” was nothing but grease, so was the rice… why does the rice need to be so greasy? And the beans tasted like they had been re-re-re-refried. As soon as we got yo the car the whole family had to seriously use the restroom, it was a fight for the toilets but that’s a story for another days The only reason I’m not giving it a 1 star is because the staff was friendly and the ambiance is pretty cool. We’ve been on a hunt for a good Mexican place for years now, I was really hoping this was the place, but sadly the search continues. (Disclaimer- I’m born and raised Mexican so I am VERY picky when it comes to Mexican food.) There is a sign that says “voted best Mexican restaurant in 2021”…. How that could happen is shocking… my Come on O’ahu, let’s get some real Mexican food out here!
