I'm shockingly surprised by the other reviews on here. It's been a while, but after a few other incredibly positive Mexican food experiences in the Gorge, I'm reminded of this place and the memorably negative eating experience we'd had here.
We went in with hungry anticipation for our upcoming meal. When we went in, it was a woman and man team (seemingly related in some way) working.
The food was mediocre as far as these types of menus go. The menu was unique yet not in an appetizing way. That would have been fine as far as price goes, but the male's attitude made even mediocre food unpalatable.
After eating at a handful of other Latin eateries in the Gorge, ALL of which are better than this place (mainly for the horrible customer service with only mediocre food to make up for it). I would suggest trying anywhere...

I love Mexican food and I have to say that this place served up THE BEST Mexican food that I have ever tasted!!! On either side of the border!! Cannot say enough about their food!!! And also worth mentioning, the best tasting strawberry daiquiri I've ever had as well. And they ran it through the blender long enough to make it drinkable, without one single chunk of ice unblended. Anyone who enjoys the occasional blended drink knows exactly what I'm talking about. Can't wait to be in the Hood again so I can go back to this place. Whatever they're doing, they're doing it well. Keep up the good work because you deserve every star!!! Times like this, I wish there were a couple more...

I’ve been going to el Rincon for many years, the food is consistently delicious every time I eat here. Service is unmatched, every time I get a burrito they always ask how I’m doing, what I’m up to and truly care for their customers. This family works 5-10am delivering food in the dalles then drive to hood river and then open from 11-6, 6 days a week! This family owned and operated restaurant along with being one of most affordable restaurants in the gorge. Any time anyone asks me where they should eat, without hesitation I always recommend here. Thank you for always putting 100 percent into your craft. Truly amazing. 11/10...
