Update: After wanting some fried fish, I gave them another try after months. The prices were consistent this time around. The food was fried perfectly. Well seasoned. The taste of the catfish was not overly pronounced. Those of us who like catfish know. I’ve been told some farmed catfish does not have that true catfish flavor but I have not verified that.
Old Review: I wanted to try out the newest Boston’s Fish Supreme in Hoover. The aroma was great. I looked at the menu and ordered the fish combo. I noticed upon paying I was charged more. The menu itself does not show an up charge for ordering catfish but this is what I was told. My next visit I purchased the fish nugget combo. I was charged $10.99 like what is on the menu and was told there was no up charge for catfish. It looked good but did not taste like catfish. I figured I would patronize them again and purchased the fish nugget combo. Upon leaving I saw I was charged more. The prices seem to be different from what’s actually on the menu and the catfish did not taste like catfish. Will not be patronizing anymore. Highly disappointed finding out prices are different from the menu and aren’t mentioned at all...
Read moreWe were hungry for catfish and headed for a different fish restaurant, when we came across this place by accident. They are tucked away behind a bigger building in front of them, so pretty hidden from the main road. We had missed the road we intended to turn on, and ended up turning around in the Plaza they are located in. We read their signs out front and decided to give them a try! Oh boy, are we glad we did!! We tried their catfish, hush puppies, fried okra, coleslaw and fries. They were all delicious!! They have pretty big menu for their size, and a great selection of other fish, chicken, sides and desserts. Their prices are extremely reasonable, and the service was great, too!! We live 45 min away, but we will absolutely make plans to eat there again whenever we're in the area. They have a busy take out business, as...
Read moreI got the 3 piece fried catfish snack, which comes with hush puppies, and ordered a small Cajun Ranch fry and a kikipoo to drink and shared it with my wife on the covered porch. It came out to $16.39. Cicadas were screaming, and I was moaning: this food is THE BOMB!
The fried batter on the tender juicy huge slab of catfish, the spicy and salty cajun seasoning blend on ranch-drenched fresh french fries, and soft moist hush puppies with homemade tartar sauce on the side generously given free of charge??
Eat here! Seriously! Just maybe not too often. Its so delicious and flavorful that it cannot possibly be good for you.
The space inside is decked out with cool ocean murals and old school neon signs too. Cute place to eat for a date or...
