I just recently moved here to Hoover, AL 2 weeks ago and have had multiple problems with this McDonald's. I do Doordash since I am looking for work, my first issue with them was picking up an order. I went through the drive-thru like the DoorDash app told me to do. I told the employee what I was there for and gave them the name and the order number. They told me to go to the first window, so I did. At that window the employee gave me attitude and told me to go to window 2, so I did. At that window the employee also gave me attitude and told me I am not allowed to pick up orders for DoorDash through the Drive-thru (which is not true) and I had to come inside. Even though the order I was picking up was RIGHT AT THE WINDOW READY TO BE HANDED TO ME. Without arguing, I pulled around to the door to go inside, parked and walked up to go inside. The door was locked. So I walked to the front of the building and tried that door, it was also locked. I walked back to the main side door and started knocking on the door, then the glass window until someone saw me, they appeared to be a manager. They came to the door and got very loud saying "what is your problem? what do you want?" When I told the manager what I was trying to get, they got mad at me. Told me to come in and basically threw the order across the counter at me. Once I got the order I left. I can only assume the food was correct because we are not allowed to open the orders once they are sealed. I told the DoorDash customer if there was any issues they should contact McDonald's and report the issue with DoorDash also. The DoorDash customer said this was not the first time they have had drivers have issues with this McDonald's location and they said they would be calling to complain.
The second issue took place when I ordered food for myself a couple days later. I went through the Drive-thru and when I got my order it was someone else's food. So I went inside and told them what happened. The employee and manager tried to tell me that I was the one who was wrong. So I pulled out my receipt and showed them. They huffed and said hold on and made my real order. When I checked it after they gave it to me it was thrown together and messy, but since it was the correct order I thanked them and left.
The third issue took place today. Like I said at the beginning, I have only been here in Hoover, AL for roughly two weeks, moving from North Carolina. I ordered my food through DoorDash. I want to say this is NOT the driver/Dasher's fault at all, because they are not allowed to open the bags once they are sealed. I got a text from my Dasher apologizing for the wait, they were waiting for my order to still be made, which I was grateful for the polite heads up. Once I received my order I opened the bag and was happy to see things seemed correct. That was my first mistake. The fries were basically frozen and have no salt. The burger box had the correct labeling for my "special" request of leaving off the onions but the burger was the complete wrong type of burger, I ordered a bacon double quarter pounder with cheese/no onions, instead it was just a bacon cheese burger inside a double quarter pounder box. My drink wasn't even the correct size or drink. The only thing that was right was the mocha Frappe. I contacted DoorDash and reported the issue and tried calling McDonald's but once I got ahold of someone I was put on hold. After 10mins of being on hold the call was hung up on me. I tired calling back but it just rang and rang, so I gave up.
I have been extremely patient with the issues, I have worked in the food industry as well as been in management and I know it can be rough. Especially when a place is poorly managed. That being said, after 3 separate visits and 3 different types of orders/ordering, this is unacceptable. I cant believe things have not improved, especially after the other reviews of this location. Read moreI would give this place zero stars if I could. Stopped here on the way to vacation hoping for a quick stop. Had to go inside because we had been cooped up in the car so figured we would eat inside to stretch our legs. Ordered our food and multiple customers were standing waiting on their orders. After 10 minutes, people that were there before us were still waiting. One gentleman finally got his food which was 2 happy meals and I overheard that the order was wrong. Then my mother got her drink and they told her all they had was coke and sweet tea and everything else wasn’t available. A few minutes later someone that had been waiting since before we even got there was getting upset, saying he only ordered 2 drinks..come to find out a worker said they were out of those drinks after he had already ordered them and had been waiting at least 20 minutes at this point. He asked for a refund and the cashier seemed annoyed and went to the back for “help”. She came back 5 minutes later forgetting he wanted a refund and he reminded her and it still took a few minutes after that until he finally got it. We continued waiting another 10 minutes and finally had to just get up and leave without a refund. This is ridiculous. It’s McDonald’s. The staff are rude and don’t know what they’re doing. Read moreI ordered a bacon, egg and cheese mcmuffin. Had to repeat the order twice. When I pulled up, the lady mumbled my order and handed me my change and I very nicely said "I'm sorry, but did you say steak?" And she went off and began saying "I asked you three times if it was bacon." And then she closed the window on my face. She then turned around and yelled across the kitchen that she repeated herself four times (which she didn't, she only repeated herself twice just like I did) and kept talking crap about how she kept having to repeat herself, etc. Basically trying to make me feel like shit because she didn't hear me and the speakers there suck. I told her nicely at first that she didn't have to catch an attitude with me and she said she didn't have an attitude and then wanted to condescendingly tell me "bless your heart" like I was getting worked up over nothing. I have bad hearing issues and all she did was make me feel like crap because I felt like I was in the wrong but I know I wasn't. What's worse is she didn't even refund me for the extra money I paid for the steak when I only got bacon. Not only that but then I pulled up to the next window and they didn't even have an order for me. So idk if the lady cancelled it or what but I then had to wait a few more mins.
