Asian American Restaurant — Restaurant in Hopewell

Update: we gave it one more shot and it is wasted money. Food is worse than it was. Sad to see such a great restaurant go down. It has t have relatively new owners. I could even eat my food. It was worse then bad. We have visited this restaurant for years to pick up Chinese food from 460 side of Prince George. It has always been very good. Not tonight. Egg rolls were not cooked. General Toso chicken looked nothing like it ever has, dried up, no sauce on it. A tiny bit of chicken and a tiny bit of rice. It tasted even worse. I can forgive a bad night but the manager when we called had no response except to say he will tell the kitchen. It’s hard for me to believe the same manager runs this as in years past. He said he was but sounded very young. I never take a meal back but I will be tomorrow for a full refund....

Edit: After being a customer here since they opened, I found long straight black hair in my food. I have kinky natural hair so it definitely wasn't my hair. I always eat my egg roll before I eat the rest of my food. When I opened the mixed vegetables that's when I saw the hair. I called them & they told me to bring it back. She looked at the hair & glanced at my hair...(clearly not the same hair texture). She didn't even give me all my money back. Would you believe she subtracted the price of the egg roll I ate? On a combination platter? That came with an egg roll? That's like a resturant subtracting the price of a roll if you had hair in your spaghetti. They didn't even apologize. After being a customer here since they opened, I will NEVER spend my money here again.

This was our first time ordering takeout from Asian American Restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious! We had the sesame chicken, orange beef, combination fried rice, and egg rolls. The food was piping hot, the egg rolls were delicious, the meat was well seasoned; and not chewy, hard, or dry. The broccoli that came with the meat was not too hard or soft, and it was not doused in a salty sauce which made it a nice compliment to the rich meat. I didn't feel like a sack of potatoes after eating the meal- a true sign of good, fresh cooking that does not overdo it on the oils. I was surprised that they brought a wall calendar with the food free of charge. I will definitely be a repeat customer the next time we decide to...
