Waves Sandwich Company — Restaurant in Hopewell

First time trying this local sandwich shop. It was extremely busy during the 11 o’clock rush for lunch. My review is based on a to-go order placed at the kiosk. Would’ve given it a 5 stars but I wasn’t acknowledged for quite a long time and didn’t feel welcomed. Waited 30 mins and 40$ later for 2 sandwiches and 2 sides of fries. Sides are separate, no combo options. If on a time constraint for lunch it would be best to call order ahead. Also would be better to sit and dine in because by the time I got to my destination for lunch fries were soggy as was the bread. But the flavor of the cheesesteak sandwich was amazing. Blows Charleys Cheesesteaks out of the water. The bread was buttery and overstuffed to the max with filling. The consistency of the chopped steak and onions was perfect. This is a really cute little shop! The vibe of the place was fun and inviting! They had great music playing also. Fresh flowers were at all of the tables, and the windowsill was full of live plants! I really liked that. But as for the food… The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was outstanding! My dad and I got sandwiches to eat at the restaurant, and we both got the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches to go to have for lunch the next day. They were delicious! The cheesesteak sandwiches kept really well and even though we ate them cold They were 10 out of 10! I wish I could’ve eaten it hot to see how much better it would’ve been! For dinner that night, I did get a burger, and it was good! The potato salad is a little salty. You can tell that they put pickle juice in there, it was fine just a little salty for my pallet. First time here and the food was really good. I had the cheesesteak and it was definitely on point. I wanted to give a fair review so I made sure to eat it while it was hot and I was blown away. Definitely a higher quality steak than what most places give and it was loaded. Good amount of fried onions and gave it great balance. The restaurant itself was pretty cool, even had a Nintendo 64 and a retro tv in the waiting area. Staff wasn't too welcoming as nobody said anything when I came in I kinda just happened to turn and see the self order kiosk for ordering takeout. Once it was done a guy just came out and handed me the bag and walked off so I had to go in the fridge and grab my drink myself. No thank you no goodbye or anything.
