El Gordo LLC — Restaurant in Hopewell

El Gordo (the restaurant attached to La Bodega) is such a good little spot. Plenty of menu options to choose from so there’s something for everyone! Beer selection is wonderful, they’ve got imports as well as domestic beers and seltzers. The soda selection is also incredible- even got a banana flavored soda! My partner got the chicken gorditas, and I got the hamberguesa; both came out relatively quickly (10-15min.) They also have a small fridge stocked with housemade salsas, cilantro, limes, pickled veggies, and more! I’ll definitely be back to try my way...

Very disappointed in the food!! ever since the new owners took over the food has gone down hill and the quality is poor. I call to ask why the gorditas I ordered are full of beans, lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes and almost no steak meat and I was hung up on. To spend $25.00 on 6 gorditas that barely had steak and then to be hung up on is absolutely unacceptable!! I will take my business to J&A latino market from now on...food is way better anyways and you get...

When you step into this place you feel like you have just arrived in Mexico. Authentic Mexican food unlike anywhere else in the area. Friendly staff as well. I would give them 5 stars if the restaurant area was separate from the store because Fridays can get crazy busy with people sending money internationally.
