City Point Ice Cream & Burgers — Restaurant in Hopewell

Did an order for take and their phones didnt work or they wouldnt pick up, So i had to walk in to place my order. And sad to say it has changed like many places in Hopewell. The staff changed and is run by disgruntled teenagers looks like. I went in and guy was on his phone. No smile no greeting and just took my order. 2 burger meals and kids meal. Place only had 2 customers eating ice cream. I went outside to wait and came back 5 mins later. No other customers were in there and the worker was now sitting in the customer eating area with his head slumped down playing on his phone. The other worker who may have been the cook was mopping the floor. I stood there for about 3 mins and I see a brown bag my the cook area counter. I wondered if that was my food but the bag looked small so i didnt think it was. So I asked the worker slumped over at the table and asked if that was my order and he looked up and said 'yea' and went back to his phone and i left. No goodbye no acknowledgement at all. I went to my car and when we opened up the food we were missing my sons fries from the kids meal and the Styrofoam had burned onto the nuggets making them smell and unedible. They were also not cooked all the way even though the breading was. I uploaded a picture. My burger wasnt cooked well like i had asked and my husbands fries were rubbery. I didnt want to go back in there and have them mess with my food for complaining so i will never go back there again. Service and food went down. I dont know why the owners hire young rude people that just dont care at all. I went there qent they first opened up and were new ans food and service was great. Now its trash. Hopewell is bad enough with hardly a decent place to eat that isnt fast food and the only good place left to get food is K&L bbq but they dont open on weekends. At this rate i rather drive to enon or chester than eat at this place....

Googled places and stumbled upon this little place in downtown Hopewell. The pictures looks good and they have great reviews so I figured I'd give it a shot. I ordered a double Smash burger (bacon and cheese) combo meal, and an adult grilled cheese sandwich. When my food was ready, my name was called and I went to collect my lunch. While the burger was cooked to my liking, it lacked any kind of seasoning. Even adding salt and pepper would take their burgers to another level. I did eat the entire burger, however in my opinion it would be so much better if it wasn't bland. The grilled cheese also looked very good. it was cooked nicely, not burned, and was prepared with 4 different cheeses (american, cheddar, swiss, and gouda). However, as much cheese as there was, and this is going to sound weird, I couldn't taste any cheese. If my eyes were closed, I do not think I would be able to identify I was eating a grilled cheese sandwich. On the plus side, the fries are pretty good. They are fresh made from potatoes, appear to be made in house and not frozen. The burger also is fresh and made to order. I would return as a customer with the caveat of maybe adding some salt and pepper to my meal for taste. I did not try any ice cream but probably will upon my return. The staff was friendly and welcoming allowing for a good ordering experience. Recommend to others if a decision on where to eat cannot be made. The food I ate was more like 2 out of 5 stars, however, I could have added salt and pepper myself to better enhance my dining experience. Since salt and pepper was available to me at the restaurant, I cannot place the entirety of the blame on the establishment and will rate them 4...

After reading the great reviews, my husband and I decided to stop in yesterday for two crazy shakes. Our order was to go. So I know our crazy shakes might not be as fancy as the photos. However they weren’t even close to anything like what was pictured. I got the Sweet Cheezus Shake. I did not have any strawberry topping inside of my shake I was literally served of a vanilla shake with a dollop of whipped cream on top. There were no graham cracker crumbles or any type of cheesecake inside of my shake. I did let the young lady know that made my shake that I did want all my contents in the cup. I did not want my toppings on the side, So I got vanilla shake with nothing inside of it and a separate container with a piece of plain cheesecake no strawberries no toppings no nothing. We spent over $35 on two shakes and I was thoroughly disappointed. My husband’s shake was the same way plain shake with a side of brownie. After the over 20 minute wait (one order was ahead of us in store & one pick up order)for our shakes; I did not want to wait for a re-do or to speak with someone. The young ladies who made took and made our order; apologized for the wait but did not state that they may be out of items for the shakes. Let’s hope for this business’ sake this was an off day or something but I do not believe that I will be coming back which is disappointing because this area needs great...
