Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Hopkinsville

Of the multiple Freddy's we have eaten at around the country, this is by far the dirtiest, most unfriendly, unhelpful staff of any we have been to. We walked up to the counter to order and the employee at the counter (without acknowledging we were standing there) walked away, emptied the large trash can and swept the restaurant floor, then emptied the dustpan in the trash right next to the counter. She then addresses us to order with "what do you want." I ordered a concrete and the employee began making my concrete without having washed her hands or putting on gloves. My husband had to get antibacterial wipes from our car to clean our table. The fry sauce was open with a spoon to scoop out sauce. I approached the manager right after I noticed the employee begin making my concrete without washing her hands and said I did not want to make a scene, but that I was concerned about her making my food without washing her hands or putting on gloves. He offered me a refund, to which I told him, no thank you, I wasn't asking for a refund, but simply wanted him to be aware and that I could not eat it at this point. After my husband and son received their food and were just about finished eating the manager came to our table and asked me if everything was okay. I didn't know how to respond, so he asked again. My husband replied with how disappointed he was in the cleanliness of the restaurant and our experience. The manager offered a refund to which my husband said, we weren't wanting a refund, just simply to have our concerns heard. The manager patronizingly said, "no, I'll give you a refund" (in a raised voice) and took our receipt. We in no way wanted to create any kind of scene, we simply wanted to share that this was not our typical experience with Freddy's. When my husband said we have been to Freddy's all over the country (military family with 24 yrs service), the manager, snapped back. "I'm sure you have." Again, we did not want to make a scene, we did not want something for free, we simply wanted a clean environment from which our food was prepared and for us...

Totally loved it! Our first go and it was so good! He got a double original and i got a single. Omgeezers! They make shoe string fries and they didnt even get ketchup on them i ate them so fast! I also got a mini bowl of chili and sampled the vanilla custard and i could not have been more pleased! The girl who took our order was so sweet and beautiful! The tables were clean and the atmosphere was pleasant to. We had to go to the store and was going to come back and go thru the drive thru for the custard but was so full after we came out of the store we just made the hour drive back home. This instantly became my new number 1! No complaints! My pickle and onion was perfect! Its not easy to eat with false teeth and these pickles are sliced length wise not in quarter shapes and these pickles was crispy and the onion was just the right flavor and not overwhelming. Both just bit right off without my burger falling apart and being nasty. I had pink lemonade and he had pepsi or coke or dr pepper.. idk but i give it my five hearts and five stars hands down! ☆❤☆❤☆❤☆❤☆❤ and i wont have any problems making that drive just to go eat at Freddy's! Today was a perfect meal! He wasnt crazy about his burger like i was so he wants to try a chicken sandwich next time. So maybe he will give it a perfect score then. He did have a double so maybe it was just too much hamburger meat. Idk.. i nearly ate ever bite of mine and usually i would have eaten maybe half my fries and a bite or two of ky burger and a bite or two of chili and no custard/ice cream but wow! I could eat it right now and i usually only eat once a day or ever other day and my appetite is maybe a piece of toast or a sandwich.. Freddy's was SO YUM! Perfect! Simply perfect! (original pre-covid) Something NEW and different in Hopkinsville.

If you have never been to a Freddie's, you need to know, it is NOT what your used to. The bad reviews (so far) complain about the burgers. Yes, the pattis are thin. They're supposed to be that way at Freddie's.

5 stars for food quality and flavor. Chili cheese fries always excellent (for example).

1 star for building. Not even open a month and roof leaks. P.A. microphone appears not to work since food order numbers are "yelled" out. Dining room too crowded and cluttered. People with mobility issues be warned. Traffic flow and parking lot design awful.

4.9 stars for service. Dining room has been kept clean constantly during lunch rush. Cashier did a great job making my order a combo. But failed to push the reward program.

10% military discount all the time. Except Mondays. On Mondays it is a 15% military discount.

(New July 2021 update)

The P.A. system works now, but due to no ceiling, it is difficult to clearly understand it. I would guess the roof leak is fixed, but since it wasn't raining, not sure.

The food still tastes great. Service is still great. Tables get wiped down after each customer. Bottom line; Freddy's standards are being adhered to.

The employment crisis takes its toll on another business.

Dinning room should not be mopped with the same greasy mop as the kitchen. SLIP HAZZARD!

Some employees masked, some not. Dinning Room tables not sanitized in a timely manner.

Thank goodness the food still tastes good. (Except they didn't put onions on my chili cheese fries. See website.) 😔

[May 2022 update] Perfect, fresh, hot chili cheese fries today. Awesome food.

Building showing signs of neglect. Not just dirty, but safety violations. Emergency exit door locked during business hours. Emergency lights broken. Every glass...
