IF I COULD GIVE 10 STARS I WOULD! I normally do not give reviews much but this place I just had to. Do not pass the place up! I cannot say enough good things. Owned by a sweet local family, we received exceptional service, the best Japanese cuisine I have ever had in Desoto County (you can tell it is authentic and not like the other chain places and I’ve tried all of them!) ALSO with the absolute BEST prices. Y’all, we were so shocked at what a gem this place was! It’s a hole in the wall place, but really surprised us with how amazing the food was. Complimentary soup and salad. The best clear soup and salad I’ve ever had at a Japanese restaurant. The salad dressing was by far the yummiest I’ve ever had. Tasted so fresh and has such a unique flavor! Soup was light but so flavorful. Don’t skip it! Sushi was delicious with a great price. (The big daddy roll pictured) The gyoza was phenomenal, especially the yummy sauce that came with it. Hibachi was so cheap and so filling! Cooked perfectly and delicious. Large portion. Our waiters were the sons of the owners and were so friendly. They seemed to really care and were extremely accommodating and helpful with the menu. Also super kid friendly. The place isn’t the fanciest on the inside, but gives you that “at home” feeling. Which I honestly prefer over the fancier options. We couldn’t be more thankful for this new addition to the Horn Lake area, and highly recommend. Y’all go support this local business!
We got a gyoza appetizer, a deep fried sushi roll that has 10pc, a drink, and an adult chicken hibachi, 3 salads and 2 clear soups (which were all free.) Only $31 bucks! You cannot beat that price anywhere else!
We also had some friends with us that got the Cambodian curry, and liked it a lot. Thank you Channy’s for an absolutely wonderful experience! We sure...
Read moreMy father and I visited here for the first time after I heard some awesome things about the place- and they were all true! Extremely comfortable down-to-Earth atmosphere, wonderful people, and SPECTACULAR food for very reasonable prices (and I’m a cheapskate!). I got the nam banh chok with beef (curry soup, pictured) and soft shell crab tempura while my father got chicken egg rolls and the chicken katsu with steamed white rice.
The nam banh chok has an incredibly flavorful, sippable broth. Perfectly cooked noodles that hold onto the flavor well. Beef was extremely tender, clearly cooked low and slow with care. All of the vegetables were prepared and cooked to the perfect texture as well. The soft shell crab tempura is made with good-quality crab and cooked perfectly, they obviously keep their oil very hot for a nice non-greasy crisp! Same applies to the egg rolls and chicken katsu! And of course the steamed rice was beautifully fluffy. Additionally, upon mentioning that I forgot to ask for my soup extra-spicy, our waitress offered some Thai green chili peppers. Absolutely delicious! If you’re a spice-lover I highly recommend asking for them.
In conclusion, It’s just a great place all-around. Could not...
Read moreWe visited Channy’s this afternoon for the first time after it was recommended to us by my daughter who was there yesterday, and loved it. The food was excellent—the best Cambodian I’ve had. The complimentary salad and soup that accompanied our meal were also really good. I had the Habachi Scallops which were tender and tasted wonderful. The rice and veggies that accompanied the meal were also delicious. And the lunch portions were very generous. Our server, Danny, was friendly, fun, and just a really nice guy. He went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. Also, the prices were very fair—especially for such good food and large portions. I’m looking forward to going back again soon. I...
