My mother wanted to come here for Mother’s Day lunch. We loved this little place. You order from the counter. They have fish filets, Shrimp, chicken strips, burgers, salads and Philly Cheesesteak as main dishes. My Philly Cheesesteak was perhaps the best one I’ve ever had. It was cut into two pieces when they served it. I was only able to eat half of it. I can’t wait to eat the other half. The freshly grilled onions were just perfect with it. I ordered the red beans and rice as a side and. they were so tasty I couldn’t put them down. My mother ordered 4 strips of fish with two sides. She loved it. No grease at all in the food. My wife got got 12 pieces of shrimp with 2 sides. She loved the shrimp. The fries were that kind that taste extra crispy which was perfect for this kind of restaurant. They brought our food to the table and came back and even checked on us. This was a great choice of a casual place to eat. It is not fancy or trendy, but the booths and tables are suited well. One big section has raised tables with real neat padded stools. I am some somewhat critical of restaurants, but this little place is a well kept secret in Hot Springs. If you haven’t eaten here, they have enough choices it’s worth the try. We took pictures after we had already eaten some of the food. ...
Read moreI'm disappointed in my service I received yesterday. We were really looking forward to trying a new place, but I will not be back after visiting just once.
They got the order wrong, and was really rude about it when I tried to have it fixed or get a refund. The lady walked to the kitchen door, which is right by the front counter, and told the people that I ordered fries and changed my mind. She kept saying that I ordered one thing and just changed my mind. I never ordered fries, and kept correcting her as she talked about me right in front of me to the kitchen. I went to this place to try their hush puppies, I didn't need or want any fries and never ordered them. When I got home, they had given me 4 hushpuppies for my side and the rest were still fries.
I also question the cleanliness of the place. The lady at the counter was scrolling and texting on her phone, and then resumed folding customers napkins. The lady at the drive through window had chicken on the counter by the drink station and was dipping and eating her chicken between cars at the window. She'd put her chicken down, grab the customers drink and food, hand it to them, and go back to munching. It was pretty gross. We will...
Read moreThe quantity versus the quality is night and day! Yes, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the amount of food per order; however, the fish and shrimp were over cooked causing the fish to be too crispy (dry) and the shrimp too tough to eat, as for the beans.. NO flavor, very bland! They do serve a decent Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich with a small portion of fries.
As for the staff, there's some improvement required, for example... Acknowledging your customers, especially if they've been waiting in line for a certain amount of time. The drive-thru cashier finally realized that, even though the "manager" was at the counter preparing the work schedule for the staff!
A staff won't be necessary if you don't believe in leadership by example. Overall, I'm hoping that some training in customer service and food prep will improve the experience. I might be inclined to give Chick O' Fish another...
