Al Shami used to be one of my favorite food spots. Their shawarma was exceptional — juicy, flavorful, and made with real care. I didn’t mind waiting in long lines because I knew the food was worth it.

But something has changed recently, and not for the better.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed a real drop in quality. The meat has become dry and flavorless, lacking the richness and seasoning that made it special. Customer service has also slipped — it feels rushed and inattentive. The truck that once had a constant line of eager customers is now strangely quiet, with no wait at all.

It’s honestly disappointing to see this fall from such high standards. The Sugar Land location never matched the quality of the main truck, but now even this once-reliable location feels off.

That said, I still believe in the team behind Al Shami. I’m certain the management can turn things around and bring it back to the level it once was. I hope to see that same passion and quality...

Update: The people are amazing and the past few times I’ve gone they have done a pretty good job in maintaining amazing quality food. The flavors remind me of home. 1 star = 5 stars

Old review: The first time I went to this place the food was amazing, it was the closest thing that reminded me of the food in Syria and Lebanon. The second time I have had it I was very disappointed because the halabi chicken and beef shawarma were dry, I was hardly able to finish it but decided not to rule out this place because sometimes things happen. The third time I ordered from this place was by far the worst, it was also halabi style chicken and beef shawarma, when I tell you this meet was dryer than my belt, believe me. It was supremely and utterly dry, there were like 4 small pieces of pickle and the end of a lemon slice no lemon pulp in the lemon sliver. I was very very disappointed. I don’t think I will be ever coming back...

I bought a Shawerma and a mixed grill from this food truck, and I have to say, it was simply amazing! From the juicy and tender meats to the perfectly seasoned vegetables and sauces, every bite was a flavor explosion in my mouth. Yeah, they took a little bit more time, but boy, oh boy, it was worth every second of waiting. I would take quality over rushing the food any day! The truck itself is super clean and well-maintained, making the overall experience even better. The staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel like a valued customer. I highly recommend giving this Shawarma truck a try, especially if you're looking for a delicious and AUTHENTIC Middle Eastern experience in Houston. 5 stars, hands down! My only ask for the owner is to maintain these standards. Please do not giveaway quality and take shortcuts to make more profits. We deserve a well maintained Middle Eastern food truck like...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hidden Gem on Wheels – Al Shami Food Truck! Al Shami Food Truck is an absolute treasure for anyone who loves authentic Middle Eastern flavors! From the first bite, you can taste the care, tradition, and quality in every dish. The shawarma is perfectly seasoned and juicy, the falafel is crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the garlic sauce is pure magic. Everything is made fresh, and the portions are generous — great value for the price. I especially loved the fresh-baked saj bread and the grilled meats — truly restaurant-quality food served with the convenience and speed of a food truck. The team is incredibly welcoming and friendly, and you can tell they’re passionate about what they do. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or a late-night bite, this place never disappoints. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it — Al Shami is one of the best food trucks in town!

Food started tasting not good at all, quality and quantity started becoming bad. We asked tahini sauce in the sandwich and all what we had for was tomato sour sauce, whole sandwich tasted like lemon. Their was hardly any beef in it. Almost half of the roll had only salad in it. It was all bread and tomato salad. Too much lemon and tasted sour. They put too much sumac inside. The meat was dry for all the sandwiches. This is the third time they don’t take the orders in correct even after repeating it several times. It doesn’t even show it in the receipt like to add extra tahini sauce. For two sandwiches they took over 30 mins, we don’t mind but waiting for a long time and not getting what you expect the third time. Don’t think I will return back.

This probably has been the biggest shawarma I’ve had in a long while. It’s the closest thing I’ve had to a shawarma back home in Damascus. The chicken was cooked to literal perfection and dripping in yummy meat juices. The bread tasted fresh and for the sub $15 price range I would definitely order this again. The wait was about 15 minutes for our order but it definitely was worth it. They have a few tables in front of the truck for customers to eat and there is a bunch of parking for people to park and eat. The truck is in a plaza with a bunch of other food trucks. Overall it’s a great spot to get your grub on and won’t disappoint. The only thing is I wish I ordered more!
