Wow. What an experience!
I arrived 5 minutes before opening to beat the crowd. Upon arrival, I had some casual conversations with them while they prepared for opening. They took my order promptly and offered to bring it to me in my vehicle so I wouldn't have to wait out in the cold weather. Amazing service!
On to the food:
I ordered the Odesskaya Shawarma. This is a Turkish style shawarma with a different bread. I've had similar breads to this at sit-down doner restaurants in Izmir. The bread was thin and grilled to perfection.
The sandwich was huge! I can eat a lot of food in one sitting. I'm constantly let down by serving sizes, but this was a surprising exception. I couldn't even finish the sandwich!
The sandwich was packed with flavor. They really highlighted the Gemüse approach with the flavorful veggies mixed in at an appropriate ratio. Don't be confused. The chicken is the star here, and it is plentiful. There was so much chicken that it was falling out with every bite, yet the flavor complexity allowed me to taste all the ingredients to my very last bite.
Price: I believe this is probably the best value in all of Houston. I honestly feel like this is a $20+ quality sandwich. The fact that it is priced so low means I will be back plenty of times. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu.

I genuinely don't write that many reviews but i HAVE to. My top 3 spots for shawarma in houston are: 1. Barbar restaurant 2. Gourmandize and 3. Al hadi truck. This place.. genuinely TOPS all. Easily. I had their chicken shawarma and chicken doner kebab wrap. Oh my god. The bread they use for the shawarma? AMAZING. It's just like the authentic shawarma you'd get from the middle east (i grew up in Dubai so i know what im talking about). The shawarma seasoning is so AUTHENTIC and so delicious, And the size?? The price for the size is crazy. and don't get me started on the doner 😭. Oh my god it was DELICIOUS. The bread was so crispy and it wasn't soggy at all even with so much sauce. After a disappointing experience at the nearby Al Shami food truck, I stumbled upon Gemüse Döner Kebab — and what a blessing in disguise it turned out to be.
I had zero expectations walking up, but from the first bite, I knew I had found something special. This isn't your typical shawarma — it’s a different style, more in line with the Berlin-style döner — and wow, it’s absolutely packed with flavor. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned, the bread was fresh and slightly crispy, and the veggies added the perfect crunch. Every bite felt balanced and satisfying.
