Backyard Boil House — Restaurant in Houston

After reading reviews , my family of 3 decided to give this place a try . I am extremely disappointed with the service I experienced on a Saturday at approximately 4:30 PM. My visit was marred by an unacceptable level of inefficiency and disregard for customer satisfaction.

My family and I endured an agonizing wait of over one hour before receiving any food. The situation only worsened when we brought this issue to the attention of the staff, and the waiter mentioned it would be an ADDITIONAL 15 min wait . After waiting 10minutes they proceeded to bring out only ONE out of the five items we had ordered. To receive a single dish after an hour-long wait is utterly unacceptable.

Regrettably, the situation did not improve, leading us to the decision to leave without waiting any longer for the remainder of our order. It was disheartening to witness similar experiences at neighboring tables, such as the one directly in front of us, where patrons who had arrived earlier than us endured a wait of 1.5 hours for their meals.

The level of service we encountered falls far below the standards expected of a reputable establishment like this. Not only did we waste valuable time waiting for our food, but the incomplete order and the lack of proactive resolution from your team left us thoroughly dissatisfied.

I urge you to take immediate action to address these issues and prevent similar incidents from occurring...

Food is bomb. I’ve been here before a few times. I get the same thing every time because it’s always so good. The gumbo without the sausage (because I don’t take any pork). The gumbo is just so flavorful. Comes out hot with rice already in the bottom of the bowl. You get saltines on the side. I don’t need them but if thats your jam, then there ya go.

Gladly I went with friends who wanted to share all of their meals this time around so I got to try more than a few options on the menu. The fries. Wow the fries are something different. Perfectly seasoned with Cajun spice and a small hint of lemon. I have never had that before. And now I have an addiction. The sauce that comes on the crab legs, simply amazing. Can put it on everything. My Friends crab rice was the bomb. The grilled fish with this cream sauce was bomb too.

Daryl and Blake are nice and everything came out in a timely manner. They are attentive and work efficiently.

I know that others enjoy this place as much as I do, because that door was swangin open with a new customer every few minutes.

I wasn’t too impressed with the banana pudding. Too cinnamony. Very different. Key lime pie didn’t have enough crust and not enough lime flavor for my liking. But I don’t have to have dessert here because everything else on the menu is bussin. I gotta try the pasta next time.

Oh and they have sautéed spinach that’s cooked perfectly with garlic....

You ever met somebody that was destined to do what they’re doing? Well that is the owner of this restaurant! If I can give this place 10 stars I would. 5 stars does not suffice for taste and quality of this restaurant. I literally felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. The vibe was definitely homie. Down to playing dominoes! I felt right at home. Me and my brother were visiting Houston for Travis Scott’s astroworld concert and I saw all these good reviews so I had to come try it for myself. I had the seafood combo and my brother ordered the crab rice and of course I tasted some of his 😂😂 the owner told my brother once he tried the crab rice he would go back home asking and thinking about the crab rice and boy was he right 😂😂😂 we haven’t stopped thinking about this restaurant since we got home. I wish there was something like this in Charlotte because now I’m going to have to make a trip just to eat here again. By far the best seafood restaurant I have ever been to. And btw he also offered us complimentary wine🥺💜💜💜 keep doing what you’re doing because like I said in the restaurant you are destined to be there! Best seafood place ever!!!...
