I came here during lunchtime with a few of my colleagues on a Thursday. Parking in this plaza is a nightmare, so be prepared to wait around for somebody to leave before getting a spot to put your car. The atmosphere is ok here, nothing fancy. The food quality is average. I order the Sashimi Lunch for under $10, and it was 9-pieces of sashimi on ice (again, that's on ice, not rice). It also came with a salad, but it was cheap iceberg lettuce drenched in a gross dressing. They really need to upgrade this salad, or put the dressing on the side so the customer can add as much as they want.
We also ordered the Agedashe Tofu (fried tofu in tempura sauce) to share which was pretty good. My colleagues ordered the Salmon Cannon Ball (crab mix, crunch, masago, and spicy tuna inside of fresh salmon wrapped in a ball) and the Fuji Volcano Roll (crab mix, avocado, topped with sauteed shrimp and scallop, spicy mayo, and crunch). The rolls seem to be a better choice to order compared to the lunch specials. All-in-all, decent place to go for quick lunch on the weekday if you can get parking, and I heard they have a pretty good happy hour.
What to order: -Try out the different rolls (avoid the Sashimi Lunch with the side salad)
Pros: -Affordable
Cons: -Parking is a nightmare in this plaza at all...
Read moreI've picked up food here before, about 2 years ago and it was decent, this time, terrible experience. I called about 1:30 pm on a Monday (after the lunch rush). I ordered 2 sashimi lunch specials, which is just sliced, raw fish and soup or salad, literally the easiest thing on the menu. I was told 15 minutes then it would be ready. I came slightly after 2 pm, 30 minutes after placing my order, double the time they quoted me. When I walked in, I said I had a to go order (3 other people in the entire restaurant, so they weren't busy), the waitress seemed like she expected me. First words out of her mouth..."your food is not ready, please wait". What?!?! I replied, ma'am, you said 15 minutes, I am here 30 minutes after my order was placed and y'all aren't busy, how is my order not ready? I'm in quite a hurry, which is why I placed a to go order. She smiled and walked off. Brought my order back in a few minutes, it really wasn't long. Problem was, soup was cold, I was given no utensils to eat soup and wasabi, soy and ginger for 1, when I ordered 2 meals. There was also no rice, all I got was fish (never had a sushi restaurant skimp on rice). Very disappointing experience. There are too many sushi restaurants in this area to have to deal with this low quality of service. I won't...
Read moreWe were so disappointed. Sushi Wabi had been recommended to us by a good friend. The best I can say is that the food was tasty. But our service was totally unacceptable. Although we had a very small order, each one of the items was delivered only after egregious delay. The appetizers (edamame, pickled cucumbers, sushi roll) took 15-20 minutes to be delivered. Our server asked us twice whether we had received them, as if it might have happened without her knowledge, and also as if we were concealing them from view - they were certainly not on the table.
The entrees included two philadelphia rolls and one house roll. These never came until after we inquired about 20 minutes after they were ordered. Our server seemed very "out of it" and inattentive. We even had to ask a busboy to clear our finished items off the table after the entrees had finally arrived. The best part of the service was that our waters were refilled without our needing to ask. We left a bigger tip than was deserved simply because we wanted to leave more than we wanted to wait for the staff to bring change - we estimated it could take another 10+ minutes given what we'd experienced thus far.
There are far too many sushi restaurants in our area (not to mention generally in Houston) for us to...
