My experience was quite disappointing. I called to place an order for someone else. I have never been to the restaurant before, so I was a bit unsure of how everything worked. As I’m explaining what I need, the person on the other end of the phone asked me a question I didn’t have the answer to. As I am telling him this he begins to tell me how it works in the most offensive way. His tone was elevated and he was hung up on telling me what comes next that he didn’t take the time to listen to me. I hung up the phone. I called to verify the information that I needed with the person I was ordering for, then I went to the location. As I’m placing the order, I feel a bit more confident because I now have the information that he demanded over the phone. Once we get to the meat, he says they are out of enough of what I need. So once again I’m ordering for someone, so I can’t just change their order without checking with them first. As I am making my phone call, I can feel him getting irritated with me. To be so unaware of how you make new customers feel is shameful. Once we get pass the meat situation. I finish explaining what else I need on the burrito. I asked for an order of chips and fries. Oh man this was like pulling teeth. I’m guessing that my mask must have made fries sound like rice. So we go back and forth for a while until it is determined that I want Fries. He ask someone to make the fries as he goes to get the chips. He turns around, looks at me then begins speaking to the other workers in Spanish, then he begins to laugh. Now if they were actually speaking about me that was not determined, but based on our interaction I would say so. I say all this to say, customer service should be more important. You can have the best food on the planet. However, if you continue to treat customers as though they are idiots and don’t matter, you will never see the full potential of...
Read moreI choose to eat here due to the convenient location proximity to the hospital access the street. I did not walk in with ultra-high expectations - I just wanted some decent tasting food (I already anticipated that the prices would likely be inflated because it is located so close to hospitals and museums. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and my order (#10 Mixed Fajitas beef/chicken with a posted priced of$15.95) was taken and I was instructed to go to the register to pay. There was none at the register so I waited. I waited for a few minutes. When the manager? arrived to take my payment I asked if they had fountain drinks but I did not receive a response. The only thing he said was, "$19.25" That seemed like a lot based on the posted price, so I asked why the price was $19.25. To which the manager, seeming very annoyed, said, " You ordered a #10 and said you wanted a drink." I replied, "No, I asked if you had fountain drinks, and you didn't respond. So, what am I being charged for?" Turns out, a medium fountain drink is $1.83. So I said fine and paid the$19.25. When my food arrived a short time later, the beef fajita strips were extremely tough and chewy and difficult to cut with the provided plastic knife. Also, both the beef and the chicken had NO FLAVOR OR SEASONING. The 'spanish' rice had ZERO flavor - it tasted like white rice without any seasoning or flavor that had red food color. The 'boracha' beans were decent but not great. And the sour cream was so watery that it poured like fat-free MILK. I don't understand how an establishment that is staffed by Latinos can have such BLAND, FLAVORLESS FOOD... Huge disappointment and definitely do NOT RECOMMEND!!! Save your time, tastebuds, and money - go somewhere (anywhere)...

Bodegas Taco Shop, conveniently nestled in the Museum District, proved to be the perfect fuel for our adventure. Stepping out of the museum and into the early evening, the casual and lively atmosphere of Bodegas was a welcome transition. With the promise of a high-energy concert ahead, we opted for a mix of fresh and flavorful tacos to power us through the night. The grilled chicken tacos were a solid choice. The chicken was tender and juicy, with a nice char-grilled flavor that paired well with the fresh toppings. Each bite was a straightforward and satisfying taste of a classic done right. The standout, however, was the fish tacos. Lightly battered and perfectly flaky, the fish was complemented by a crisp slaw and a creamy sauce that provided a refreshing contrast. They were a flavorful and surprisingly light option that didn't weigh us down before an evening of standing and cheering. Bodegas Taco Shop delivered exactly what we needed: delicious, quick, and energizing food in a prime location. It was the ideal pit stop in a day filled with Houston's finest offerings, from ancient fossils to modern metal legends.
