Read moreRecommend saving whole day to cover all 4 buildings(glassell, law, kinder,beck) and sculpture garden( included in the same ticket for $24, bayou bend house sold separately). There are too many exhibits and artifacts to see, even for someone like me not very familiar with arts. We parked in Glassell garage, passed through the glassell tunnel to ticket booth and started exploring kinder building. I liked sound/accoustic exhibit, decorative arts and mixed media arts. Then we spent some time at Cafe Leonelli, lots of food options here. Next we passed through Flores tunnel to law building explored islamic worlds exhibit( must see) and limited time exhibit, “pavia tapestries “ in the cullinan hall( another must see, but it’s only open for a month) . Read moreSo the museum in general is very cool. Unfortunately our visit was spoiled by the Yayoi Kusama exhibition, well, more like by the ridiculous rules.
So they allow you only 1 minute inside (the staff member stands outside with a stopwatch). Basically you just wait in line, rush in, take like five photos and go out.
What’s the point having the exhibit there?
Also at the entrance of the Kinder building there was a person with a camera who appeared in every photo. He just stood there 🤷♀️
All in all the art is great, but the Yayoi Kusama left me...
