California Pizza Kitchen — Restaurant in Houston

I gave 2 stars becoz of my one time good experience; even though tip means you pay if you are happy with the service ;unfortunately in so many places it turns to be an income by force without satisfying the customer ; You just need to pay no matter what ,because others are paying and you should and it must be as per amount they push you to pay without concerning that the tip must be given when you are happy not when you are sad and you should pay because this guy or girl is student or poor or whatever !what if someone really does her or his best ang not being appreciated ? In our second experience we waited to be Seated in our favorite place next to window and the funny part was that the guy didn't ask us first where do you prefer to seat ? And when he took us to a dark place we complained ,he rudely said :this is the only place available and if you want other place there you should wait ,, he could manage it nicely and find a place but he didn't like the fact that we refused to seat in his selected area ; childish behavior which is typical and people scare you normally :don't say anything they might spit in your soup or food .,(don't mess with a waitress or a postman :first one mess with your health second mess with your life .). When we finally sat ,we asked for deal of a day or lunch offer :we were three adults and the guy didn't give us full details about the size of the pizza and proper advise like it's better to take 3 instead of 2; there are small pizzas and like other normal advises which are beneficial for their sales too . He took the order and left and when he brought the pizzas we were shocked :there were 7 inches with 4 small cuts and they charged us for extra dollars regarding added cauliflower . He should have informed us that this extra item will be charged ,even we ordered non salty veggie pizza the cauliflower was not required and if he added he should not charge because our pizza was simple veggie . It took time for him to bring us refill drinks and clean our table and didn't bring new plates for our next order : We felt hungry because we ordered 2 lunch offer and we thought it's like the regular one with extra salad (the waiter didn't give us any appropriate details ). So we add 10 inches veggie pizza and instead of getting good deals our bill went up and we were un happy . We left some small tips although we shouldn't have and left but we were not feeling ok at all . Don't go to this branch or don't try it second time ! They don't care you give tip or not ,they learn to be rude because people teach them to do whatever and being paid because life is stressful for them !!(crazy...

All visits since the one below have been nothing but outstanding! Can not beat the food there and we will continue to dine here!

We took advantage of the Veteran's Day free meal in 2017 and we were looking forward and expecting the same service on 2016 Veteran's Day as this location was awesome back then. This time it did not happen. We were seated and given the menus. Our server, an older woman with glasses came to our table and asked what kind of drink we would like, we said we like to share one drink with each other and she was hesitant in us getting only one drink instead of two. We ordered a strawberry tea and two Kung-pao pasta meals. When it was brought to us we both tasted it and it was peach, not strawberry. We waited for a bit for her to return. We could not wait no more, so we took it to a different server to bring out the correct drink. While we were waiting, she brought out the bread and olive oil, quickly and slammed it on the table, startling myself as my back was turned. We got our food brought to us from a different server and started eating. She came by once asked how we are doing, we were okay, our drink was about half gone, she did not asked of we wanted a re-fill. after about 10 minutes our drink was empty. We waited and watched her go to other tables nearby, serving other customers and waited. We had had enough and asked another server to bring to go containers for the leftovers. After we had stacked our dishes on the table, she finally came back to our table and asked if we would like anything else, we said no...

I had always seen California Pizza Kitchen as a reward option with My American Express but never tried it because I thought it was just a pizza joint. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s a nice dining experience with a variety of delicious options.

Highlights:

• Avocado Egg Rolls: Recommended by our server, these were absolutely delicious. The crispiness, freshness of the avocado, and the chicken combined perfectly. The sauce was the cherry on top. A 10 out of 10. Highly recommend! • Dynamite Shrimp: Perfectly sauced and served on a fresh, crunchy bed of lettuce. The balance of flavors was spot on.

*the Thai pizza was a sweet and spicy dish that was remarkable with flavor. Our server name was Ruben and he was so amazing and very attentive with refills. The peach mango lemonade was exquisite.

We visited around 3:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised to find out it was happy hour, so our meal was half off. It was such a delicious and enjoyable experience!

The restaurant is conveniently located right by the mall. We drove around to it to avoid a long walk, making it even more convenient.

Overall, California Pizza Kitchen is a great place to get together, connect, and enjoy a fantastic meal. If you’re looking for a place to relax after a long shopping trip, this is it.
