We used to eat there at least once per week for years. Often we brought along others. The staff was friendly, and the food was acceptable. Sometimes they put too much salt in the salsa, or the ice tea was old - nothing major. The owner's grandson is great. However, one day, due to a mix up with the fajita order, I ended up with half beef and half chicken. The guy only charged me the price for the chicken. The owner overheard this mix up, came over to the table to lecture me on the price of beef, and literally picked up an extra dollar that was sitting on the table and said I didn't pay enough for the mixed fajita plate. Off she went with my $1. I thought as much as we have been there, she is going to make a fuss over $1?? The money was being left there anyway towards the tip. We have never been back since. After spending hundreds of dollars there over time, she thinks it's OK to grab $1 from me?? I'm sure when they read this, they will know EXACTLY who we are. Go to Don Carlos, just down the street for equally good food, larger portions for the same price, and better customer service - and they are not closed in the middle...
Read moreI read the reviews to this place and honestly was expecting true home made food with a homey feel. We were seated and placed out order. I ordered the fajita plate. I can tell there were regulars there. It seems like the waitresses knew everyone there. They made us feel like outsiders. The waitress got lost for a while. We didn't get refills on our drinks. We had to flag someone down to refill our chips and salsa. We were sitting there while business was being conducted a few tables away with what seemed to be an owner or manager and another employee. When we finally got our food, it was not at all what I expected. I got maybe 4 strips of bland, tough fajita meat which was difficult to chew. Three tortillas were pretty good. Other than that I wouldn't recommend you to take time out of your day to have a Sunday family lunch here. There are better places wut better service I would...
Read moreFood here is usually pretty great we’ve brought friends here and usually recommend it but today was probably the last time we’ll come in a while. Everything about our meal was not okay with the exception of the limonada and tortillas.
Chilaquiles were tortilla chips but in salsa. Not the usual fried tortillas- yes there is a difference. Egg was not cooked. The eggs white part was still runny not cooked. Don’t mind my egg sunny side up or easy but at least have the yolk cooked . Also the barbacoa was swimming in oil.
We then ordered the dessert and the dessert had gone bad and the strawberries were moldy 😫brought us out another one and it was the same thing. Opted out of the dessert altogether.
Definitely not worth what we spent. Paid around $20 per person with...
