so my brother, who lives in Magnolia, asks me to stop by here to buy him some bread. as I am asking for which breads I want, I see a roach just strolling alongside the bread trays in the glass displays. the lady who is grabbing bread just nonchalantly ignores it and grabs bread beside this roach and fills my bag with bread. so, before paying, i call my brother and let him know i am freaked to see this roach and i ask him if he still wants me to pay for the bread. My brother tells me, "oh, a roach, huh? It's okay, because I like their quality of bread. This is the best Mexican bakery in all of Texas. It was the first Mexican bakery in Texas and it's been open for over 55 years! It opened in 1963. Rumer has it the next generation is planing on continuing the tradition of working and owning the bakery. Sadly because of some illness and death in the family it's been temporary closed.I can't wait for this new generation to open the bakery back up it's been far too long! This was a bakery that I went 2 when I was a little girl. BREAD is Great as ever.. Sad that it was not as busy as thought it would be. This is a part of neighborhood since 70's and longer.
