El Papaturro — Restaurant in Houston

My family has come here multiple times usually on Sundays after church. Today was the worst experience and I don’t see myself coming back. First of all, the waitress serviced two tables that arrived after us before taking our order. Our appetizer didn’t even come out in a timely manner. We had to complain to three different waitresses and still waited for our breakfasts. In all, it was an HOUR wait for three breakfast plates. Ridiculous. But that wasn’t the worst of it. We get to the check out where there’s a line. We had ordered some items to go and were planning to pay those separately as we’ve done before. At that point the waitress with the tacky glitter eyeshadow who has no idea of how to talk to customers informs us that on the weekends you cannot split up an order. we explained we’re not. We’re paying for our meals all together except for the to go orders. And she said the to go orders all go on one ticket. I see the total is high but am ready to leave the hell out of this place. I still left a 10% tip because I’m not cruel. And afterward I see that they had already charged a gratuity, a percentage of the total INCLUDING to go orders. The food is not the same it dosent have that flavor it used to have when it was on wayside. Service was ok. RECAP. Tried it once more today. They need more people to service or they just back there not doing their job waited 15minutes before getting a menu. Tables kept dirty for longer than 20 minutes. Server disappeared and no one in the front. Recap from the previous time.Just came in today and my son wanted to eat a popusa we ordered our drinks and food since we already knew what we wanted. When they brought our drink the brought a styrofoam cut to my sum for him to pour his doing and guess what it was dirty cup the worse it smelled like Clorox and fabuloso and he almost poured his drink. Worse when I told the waiter she didn't even apologize just smelled the cup and said yeah and I'll bring a new one right away. Good food but horrible service. Waitress never came back after serving our food even after we asked for napkins. Then at checkout, you find out they charge gratuity automatically even if you are just a party of 4. That of course makes sense, they don't care about the service they provide as they automatically charge you gratuity even if you disagree with it or the amount of gratuity. They don't provide you with your receipt with the breakdown of your food/beverages, just the receipt with the total and the tip amount of your choice.
