WOW!!! The worst experience in YEARS!! Our waitress "Erin" greets us to take our drink order... we tell her someone has taken it, she flips out, Says, "Who?!! WHO took your drink order?!!" Comes back WITHOUT our drinks about 8 minutes later and tells us "I found who took your drink order, THANK GOD!!!" ... as if this wasn't a clue that we should have left... we order 2 burgers, both the same way with cheeze frys. She tells us she must take our credit cards before she will put in our order... (But promises we wont be charged until the end of the meal) We reluctantly give her our card... 33 minutes later, she still hasn't come back... we roam the building looking for her and tell her to give me my credit card back... she says she will bring it right over... ANOTHER 26 minutes later, she passes us to help a table that just arrived (Mind you i still have no drinks or food) so we Call for her AGAIN to return my card. 1 hour and 8 minutes (68 minutes) from walking in the door we get our drinks and burgers, but she didn't tell them cheese fries... She gives us this made up excuse about the Business always skimping on the cheese so she ordered a side of it instead... But then where is our side?? She goes back, puts in the order and 24 MORE minutes later... once our fries are cold.. she bring out a cup of cold cheese... I tell her this is unacceptable and to give us our check so we can go... after another 11 minute, wait we go find her for our bill so we could leave... we finally find her and she needs my credit card again (because she didn't charge it yet) so she charges us for the meal... it was 24.91... having been so disappointed with the service we only left her a 3.09 tip (although she deserved nothing). I get home and double check my bank charges when i find that she indeed charged us TWICE... Then instead of a $28 total... they processed $30... I immediately called the manager who said i would only be charged once... but the server changed the tip we left her to include $2 more.. for a $30 total... This server "Erin" changed the amount on the recipt. Today I go into Christians to find the Manager "David" who acts as if I'm trying to scam him... he defends the servers actions and poor service and tell me "Trust Me, I'm dealing with the same thing" as if that would rectify the situation...
I will never step foot in this place again as long as (1) they are hiring incompetent servers (2) their managers are defending the problems instead of removing them.
(I was issued a refund, yet wasted a whole lot of time and effort going back and forth with these people)
If your not drinking alcohol... don't bother ordering, your...
Read moreNestled just blocks away from the historic White Oak Park in the east corner of the Heights is Christians's Tailgate which boasts the true meaning of what a Sports Bar should be. Not only can you watch your favorite hometown or visiting team on flat screens covering just about ever corner of the establishment but there are many activities to enjoy while you dine. Starting with a small selection of ultra competitive video games like Golden Tee, Mario Kart and a Houston Rockets Hoops Simulator which itself is more of a throwback but still just as fun as it was years ago. Video games not your thing? That's OK because there are very competitive poker tournaments every Monday. But the fun doesnt stop there. Christians Tailgate has become very well known for its widely popular Karaoke nights. So popular that instead of one night a week, diners and sports fans can showcase their "singing talents" on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Hosted by a fantastic DeeJay (Blue) , your experience will truly be a night to remember. I have been to many Karaoke bars in the past but none seemed to have the same "destination" type following as Christian's. But what really separates this place from the other "sports bars" is how insanely delicious EVERYTHING is that comes out of the kitchen. Earning a slot as one of the best places to have a burger in Texas....Yep, and after putting them to the test, I would say they have one of the best burgers that i've ever tasted. Or how bout Taco Tuesdays where you can get delicious Beef Fajita, Chicken Fajita, Pulled Pork, Shrimp or Fish Tacos for only a buck. AND THEY ARE GOOD AS HECK! But it doesn't stop there. The Fried Catfish tastes just like that of a backyard holiday cookout. The list goes on and on...Chicken Wraps, Buffalo Wings, Fried Pickles, Steak Fingers, Chicken Fried Chicken, Blackened Shrimp Salad, ....Ummm...YUM! Annnd to really piss off your "Diet Conscious", they offer Fried Oreos served with a scoop of ice cream. Lol & SMH...Good grief. But standing out more so than any is the multiple selection of local micro brewed beer favorites along with the 'Usual Domestic Suspects' like Bud Light, Mich Ultra...and so on. Christians Tailgate at White Oak is definitely a sports bar to mark on your destination list for any day of the week. Certainly worthy of my 5...
Read moreI flew in this morning (10-3-21) to watch the ravens/Broncos game with my parents, who moved to Houston in 2019. We had heard that Christians Tailgate was the home of the largest ravens roost in Houston and were so excited to enjoy the game on the big screen with other fans. We arrived at 3:05 for the 3:25 kickoff and were told to take a seat anywhere, as there was no hostess. We chose a table outside where we sat for 20 minutes without service. After we flagged down a server, she said that âyou arenât in my sectionâ, which I understand as a server/bartender veteran of ten years, but you would think that after seeing us not addressed for 20 minutes she would tell the other server or at least get our drink order. When we told her we wanted to order drinks and asked when the ravens game would be put on, she said itâs only played inside. Again, this would have been nice to know as we sat as a 3-top in our ravens gear for 20 minutes outside. When we moved inside, it took an additional 20 minutes to be served. Bonnie, our waitress, was the only person taking tables inside the bar (there were at least 10-15 tables of various sizes) and she profusely apologized as she was in the weeds with no help and was doing her best to keep up. As she was running food and drinks and taking orders, I watched other servers sitting at a table with coworkers who were off the clock, sharing food and âhanging outâ while other coworkers were obviously busy. I would have liked to see some teamwork, but maybe that is a management issue. Once we got our drinks and food, it looked like Bonnie had caught up with the multitude of customers she was managing and from that point on our service was outstanding. We wound up having a great time which was 100% due to Bonnie going above and beyond for us. If it wasnât for her attentive service and apologies for being busy (which she shouldnât have been with the amount of staff âhanging outâ on the clock) then I probably would not be back, but will definitely be returning next time Iâm in town due to her alone. I hope these comments assist management from a constructive criticism point of view and if you are looking for a good place to watch a ravens game in Houston, make sure you get here early and take a seat inside! And...
