Tadaima — Local services in Houston

I found Tadaima through a TikTok video and was curious to see it in person. Walking in, I didn’t know what to expect, but every part of the store was new and intriguing. There was art from local Houston artists for sale, alongside pottery, vintage clothes, jewelry, home goods, lifestyle items, and even some random furniture pieces. Everything felt carefully chosen, not just thrown together. As I wandered through, I noticed a group in the middle of the store deep in discussion—it seemed like a bunch of artists figuring out how to curate the space. It made the whole place feel like a work in progress in the best way, always evolving.

With Tenfold Coffee and Asch Ceramics connected, it’s more than just one store, it’s three. I grabbed a coffee, browsed, and watched people working on pottery, all within the same visit. After just coming back from Japan, I was sorely missing it and meandered over to a very cute boutique shop attached to New Heights Coffee. The owners were so so nice, actually from Japan, and were emanating joy to everyone who walked in. Aside from that, the selection was distinctly Japanese and encompassed streetwear, casual wear, athletic wear, jewelry, accessories, shoes, and (really great) fragrances, with a small mix of American vintage. They have very nice taste around their denim selection, carrying some selvedge pieces.

Best of all, I feel like so many boutique shops are overpriced - Tadaima is not and very reasonably priced. Ezla, one of the owners, noted that they add new pieces around every two weeks, so definitely worth...

Adorable and really chic store in the Heights that will guarantee you buy something if you're looking for Japandi-esque style! Unfortunately though, they are NOT mid-size or plus-sized friendly with their clothing. Which is so sad because I have been there multiple occasions just hoping I find a piece and I think their clothes are really unique and beautiful. I am a size 8-10 Asian woman with a bust and trying on even the stretchy garments there it just wasn't designed with my sizing in mind.
