They’ve been a vibe since I ditched my favorite crawfish places, LA Fisherman, LA Crawfish Shack, and Crawfish Cafe. The leading winner for me is the consistent courteous services, humble vibes, and kindness displayed by various staff members. I’ve only not felt invited or ignored once, but it seems that the young gentleman was overwhelmed and attempting to identify what patron ordered what. That was small compared to how the Houston hard-hittas have gotten over the years. Staff at the other crawfish/Cajun restaurants have begin to display attitudes of entitlement, invincibility, irritability, and arrogance. I’ve found this place to consistently deliver the necessary smiles, genuine customer service, diverse atmosphere for patrons, flexibility in options, and vibes. The Bobo Tea is wonderful, crawfish varies, and the music was diverse and good. They attempt to cater to various needs, even when it appears that they are rude and standoffish. It mostly seems to be a language or cultural barrier at those times. I find that their point system, MLK Day special, and various low cost offerings are to be admired. These staff are winning due to their natural ability to be kind. I’ll be back today. I told y’all I would. I love great customer service. I eat crawfish 2-4xs per month during season. See y’all soon. -Eve ############
I wrote the beginning part ending at Eve before today, that was regarding previous experiences and Saturday’s experience. However, today, February 21st, I received the soggiest, nastiest, and oily crawfish without taste batch from the company. I strongly dislike having to add this piece, because the chef that prepared Saturday’s crawfish, all 6 of my referrals’ crawfish, and that prepares them around 6-8ish does a decent job. There’s consistency with the taste. I saw an older male leave the kitchen on break Saturday and people were asking him things about their food. I believe that’s the person delivering that signature taste that I like. I’ve made notice of him being there and my crawfish consistently tasting good, fresh, and having a hot temperature. Today, they weren’t good and the lemons and limes were outdated with moldy looks. Please correct that. I like y’all’s crawfish when the batches are good and season-filled. The oily taste had me wondering if I had some lagging taste buds, but eating something different settled that for me. Come on y’all, I love the customer service by the Bobo Tea lady and other women I have encountered there. They’ve been kind. The one guy was blah. Let’s get back to having great flavor, fresh citrus, and quality consistently again.
02/27/2022-the consistency in taste for crawfish is still lagging. I got warm spicy juice today with no garlicky butter, no garlic pieces, no garlic taste, no lemon pepper taste, no seasoning tastes. The warm juice tasted like a throat cleansing juice due to cold weather temperatures. The hush puppies are simply not the original recipe. They’ve consistently been nasty. The fries were soggy today. I ordered ahead of time and still waited like 10 minutes. I wasn’t excited about my order today. To say that I have been a consistent guest multiple times out of the last week, the consistency can be better. The food wasn’t good today. The lemons and limes...
Read moreWent to Angry Crab because it was recommended. It was good but was not as good as Cajju. Oysters were juicy and fried to perfection. However, my etoufee was bland. The seasoning wasn't enough in there. Decor was average, it didn't feel comforting, but that's unfair cause maybe I'm used to my cajju lol. Service was good. Cashier was very patient with me even when it took long to order since it was my first time here. The Gumbo was sold out which I was bummed out that night, but ok I see you selling out Gumbo. Will try it next time! For the etoufee, put more creole seasoning in it, it tasted more water than etoufee in my honest opinion. With more seasoning, the customers will surely boost their opinions on it. They will order it more. Condiments was not on the tables. Where are the tobasco, Louisiana hot sauces and the sriracha if needed? Some people want some spice in their food. So 2 things I recommend and highly suggest, condiments on the table and more creole seasoning for the etoufee.
UPDATE: thank you for the reply. My intention for my review was not to hurt you guys, and I rated this 4 out of 5 stars. If I was comparing restaurants, I'm sorry I was just used to my go to restaurant and on the Facebook group asian eats people recommended me the Gumbo at Angry Crab. You guys were sold out of it sadly so I substituted it with etoufee. I love etoufee but it wasn't seasoned that night. No worries, as long as you guys are trying to improve and can take constructive criticism. We are all here to support businesses.. Also, you said you guys can improve it, that is why I always be honest because a restaurant can have good marketing but without great food for everyone, business can also tank. Just suggestions. I will be back for the Gumbo tho. Thank you for the info about condiments also. I will definetly ask next time. I just never seen a seafood restaurant without condiments...
Read moreFirst time; last time. Unfortunately, tonight my DoorDash order arrived with a wad of hair mixed into the box of fried shrimp. I called the restaurant and sadly didn't get a warm and courteous response from the young lady who answered. Instead of apologizing for any inconvenience and the issue, she started defending the staff, telling me they didn't have long hair and the color of their hair. It's so simple to just apologize and offer some sort of good will. It would have increased the likelihood that I would have given them another shot. But instead, now here I am writing a review about how terrible my experience was. Someone will read this and say "that guy sounds reasonable" and choose another business. Was it worth it?
Updated: 2/10/22 (following the owners response) Their response is indicative of 1) lack of professionalism 2) lack of customer service acumen and 3) lack of responsibility. I never said the hair was blonde -- it was black. I never challenged the issue of a refund, because yes, I got the refund from DoorDash. You can't do "legit business" when you're literally on this review ARGUING with a customer. I guess not only is there an "Angry Crab" - I guess there is also an "Angry Owner!" Trust, I will NOT be back! I guess the young lady got her customer service...
