Good Mexican food, great service, and good prices. Don Jose Mexican Restaurant has been a local go to for over 20 years. The service of the staff is excellent. Expect to be seated and served quickly in this contemporary styled and comfortable restaurant. The California burrito I ordered was good and the contents were fresh, but I am not crazy about canned jalapenos or canned cheese being on my food. I requested only fresh...oh well, could have been just an oversight. All in all a good place to dine.

Just had lunch here. The place was not busy and I got seated quickly. The staff was very friendly and the service was good. Jorge was my server. I had the beef enchiladas which were excellent and the best that I have had in a while! Chips and hot sauce were very good. I didn’t try the margaritas since it was lunch time and I had a busy afternoon. Prices are reasonable.

This family owned and operated restaurant is one of my favorite spots to dine in with family and friends! Owners are friendly and service is top notch. Food is exquisite and authentic to taste! This is one of those spots where you feel like home entering it and they have great Margaritas, ask for the Tajin rim to add a little spice!

If I could give this place a NO STAR I would!!! Let’s just start of with the lady who took our drinks ( my husband and I ) she came places our drinks on the table I told her we were ready to order she walked away saying I’ll be back to take your order. She went to a table to finish counting her money and drink her soda. As she seen I was looking she told a gentleman los chicos quiren ordenar” so he came and our order we ordered the fajitas with shrimp I asked our waiter how much comes on the fajitas for one and four shrimp ? He said um about three good tacos obviously that’s not enough for two people. So I said okay that’s fine I will get the fajitas for two with 6 shrimp I asked them tho be the stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp he told me that would be a extra charge I told him that’s fine. Everything is good we are enjoying the salsa our food is great the environment was so quiet not busy at all it was a great place to be after a C-Section. Well when our food came out my husband made his taco (4 small strings ) I made a taco (2 chicken 2 fajita trips) well when I looked at the hot plate there was 4 strips of chicken (I’m sure you guys know what I mean by the strips) well I told my husband don’t eat your food I want to ask did we order for 1 or for 2. Well this is what the waiter had to say well when you order the “FAJITAS FOR 2 WITH 6 SHRIMP YOU GET LESS MEAT BECAUSE YOU ARE GETTING MORE SHRIMP.” So I asked him to clarify “ so when you order the fajitas for 2 with 6 shrimp they give you less meat ? “ “ he said “YES” “ becuse you get ) shrimp” but if you get the fajitas for 1 you get about 3 tacos with 4 shrimp “ already included ? The waiter got a attitude and told me well that’s what we serve if you don’t like it I can take it back. My husband quiet the entire time finally had enough and told the waiter he did not have to be a dick about it we then kindly got up and walked out.

Ithe food looked delicious just the worst service you...

This review is based on 2 separate visits with 2 month intervals in between.

Pros: Beautiful design on the interior and plenty of space. Quality service and very nice staff. The margaritas are cheap and they have specials that you can order reguarly. The first time that I came here, everything was spot on excluding the beef in my enchiladas. I feel like the beef needs a bit more flavor or seasoning on it.

The red and green sauces were well rounded and the jalapenos that comes with the queso are delicious, but not too spicy for the tenderfooted.

The prices are affordable, with alchohol drinks included. The main dishes come out hot and delicious on both visits.

Cons: The second time around, my chips were stale. Both sauces were good, but the queso was thick and tasted weird.. as if it wasn't throughly melted on my second trip.

They understood the part about the issue about the queso on my second trip and provided proper service. Top notch handling by the server.

Overall: I would recommend this place to someone looking for tex mex or a group setting with friends/family. I would recommend asking how the queso is today, before ordering, and they usually replace your chips quickly if there are any issues. Main dishes have been delicious on both reviews and can recommend.

Hope this...

One of my families favorite Mexican restaurants to eat at for over 37 years. My parents are here on dates when they were teenagers. Many birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations and Tops meetings and Bulldog club meetings were had here. They have my favorite salsa of all time I am so very sad that due to covid and the death of the 2 wonderful owners Carlos and Luis that they are closing their doors. Today is the last day to go. We planned on eating there but, they were so busy and running out of food that my Aunt was barely able to get a pint of salsa and bag of chips. They had to send people away and locks the doors That is how loved this business is and how much we will miss it. I pray someone could come along and fill that spot and open it back up. Also if you know or have the recipe for the red salsa please let me know Can someone just keep making it and sell the jars I would greatly appreciate it This place will be missed I am so sad about this. You were lucky for getting to eat here. I wish all the families good luck in their next move and pray for them since I am sure closing a business that has been opened since the 70s can't be easy. We will miss our favorite server David who never wrote down what we got since he always knew what...
