The standout of our stay was commitment to service and customers satisfaction that is beyond what you would expect in a four seasons hotel. Every step of the way the staff was by our side and making our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. From check in to check out everyone was beyond helpful and nice. The suites are gorgeous and very spacious in the tower. I love the muted color scheme throughout. The furniture and facilities provided in the rooms are excellent.
I urge you to call the hotel and speak to them about what you expect from a hotel room in terms of view. The hotel staff would be able to guide you better so you stay in a room that you will like.
The mansion has several guest rooms/suites but I haven’t been in them. The residence tower behind the mansion reserved the two ground floors to the hotel. The most beautiful light and better views are on the Montrose and Harold street corner and along Harold street. The other areas also should satisfy most others as well.
Hotel guests have access to the pool on the 10th floor — gorgeous! And a fitness center.
The hotel is located in the heart of Montrose district but the tower rooms are dead quiet and provide a wonderful away from the bustle of the city.
The restaurant in house is no ordinary hotel lobby restaurant. I thought their food was excellent.
The hotel mansion as well as the tower hallways are full of original art work that is a delight to the eyes.
If only the very best will do and you want to do a boutique hotel and you don’t want to do the hotels downtown or galleria, this hotel may be the one for you. Talk to them, invest the time to tell them what you need and this hotel and it’s staff will...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed in the Tower during Christmas 2023. We stayed at the Bungalow during our previous stay at the La Colombe.
Having experienced both, we recommend staying in the limited Tower rooms, if available. They have a more modern finish and are worthy of the 5-star classification of the hotel. However, if you would like more square footage, then we would recommend the Bungalow(s). The Bungalows have modern finishes too, but some of it is dated (not too much to make them unworthy of a stay).
Overall you cannot go wrong staying here relative to other options in the Houston market (if you want to stay at a 5-star hotel). We have stayed at a few other hotels in downtown Houston and so far this one has beaten the rest (think JW Marriot, etc... in a heads-up comparison).
The staff was attentive to our needs and had little touches along the way during our stay (we don't want to ruin any of their sneaky surprises but needless to say there were more than one during our stay).
The only knock we can think of is limited parking but their valet staff handled our car with care, so that ended up being a non-issue (so long as you bake in the daily valet cost into your budget).
One last thing, location. You're on Montrose, which is definitely one of the main attractions of this hotel. It's not overwhelming driving on Montrose relative to some other locations in Houston and there is killer food all around this area. Check out Handies Douzo for some killer handrolls. Also, the food/drink options on site are worthy of a visit as well.
Thank you La Colombe team for our wonderful stay during the holidays and we look forward to staying with you...
Read moreWe weren't able to get out of town to celebrate our 12-year wedding anniversary, so I wanted to find the nicest hotel in Houston to spend some time with my wife. Drawn here by its reputation for elegance and its fantastic location; this hotel is undeniably beautiful and classy, fitting perfectly what we were looking for.||However, our initial experience left us feeling a bit disappointed with the service, and we started to wonder if the hotel truly understood what 5-star meant. Fortunately, things took a turn for the better when I shared my concerns. Christine, the Director of Rooms, was incredibly understanding and went out of her way to make things right.||Christine not only apologized sincerely but also assured us that our feedback would be used to improve staff training. She even invited us back for another stay, promising that we'd experience the level of service she expects from her team. I understand that everyone is human and can have a bad night so we decided to give the hotel another chance.||We're so glad we did! Our second visit exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to impeccable hospitality that felt like it exceeded the usual 5-star standard. Every detail was taken care of, and the staff made sure our anniversary celebration was truly special.||When a hotel is this nice and also shines with exceptional customer service, it really stands out. We're grateful to Christine and the entire team for turning our stay into an unforgettable anniversary experience. We're already looking forward to returning and enjoying their outstanding...
