Visited on Sunday with my friend so I expected a wait since it was the weekend. After a 20min wait we got seated and our server took about 15mins to come take our order. We tried to order a small frozen margarita and the waitress informed us how small it was by showing us the glass it comes in. So then we order the large and to our surprise the large wasn’t even big. It just came in a small mason jar. I was very disappointed in the drink since the photos on Google/Yelp made it look appealing. It was almost $8 for a large drink. Then the waitress forgot to either put in my order or tacos/ bring it out. It wasn’t until my friend finished that we finally got a staff member’s attention about my order. I waited 30mins to finally eat and the tacos weren’t even that good. They were okay but nothing great to have me craving them again. The restaurant had about 3/4 servers but the place isn’t even that big. And other staff members by the bar weren’t even interested in assisting customers with orders. They were just chatting away. As my friend and I waited we noticed other tables were also getting frustrated by the wait and service. A family of four that was seated outside promptly left after having their drinks. The dad simply paid and had an annoyed look on his face until leaving. I hope the restaurant works on providing better customer service and better food quality that match the prices. I probably would have expected these type of prices in the heights, River oaks, or kirby but not in the...
Read moreI was eager to try this place after finding it in social media, I must say I was extremely disappointed. We ordered some micheladas and topo chico’s, I found very odd that they brought everything already served in a plastic mug, normally in other places they bring you a glass mug with the bottle of whatever you order, but I was like ok sure ill give it a try, when I did I immediately notice the club soda taste from soda fountain, I asked just to bring me regular topo chico with out a glass and they took almost 20 minutes to replace, it felt like they sent someone down the street to buy some and quickly put them on ice, because they were hardly cold. I wish I could say that the drinks were the bad part of my visit, but then I got around to order my food. They were out of, Tilapia fried fish, oysters, birria tacos, at this point I was really frustrated. Even though Karla was very friendly and really tried to hype up the place, the service was very slow, she brought or entrées one at a the time and with no silverware, and forgot to bring out some tostadas so I can eat with my Vuelve a la vida cocktail, at the end of the meal she asked me if I still wanted a fork and the tostadas. I also tried the fried fish tacos, the taste was ok but I thought they need it to be season more. My experience was fairly poor and will probably...
Read moreFirst of all, they have the best micheladas! The food is well served and the price is great, they have tacos, tortas, soup, ceviche, aguachile, chilaquiles, and more. I had tacos gober and esquites, I recommend both. I'll be back to try more food soon!
The restaurant has a big shared parking lot. They have indoor tables and outdoor too, the indoor space was a little crowded so we decided to sit outside. It was nice, not too hot.
Updated review: I’ve been to La Cruderia about four times since my first visit because they have some of the best seafood tacos I’ve tried in Houston—especially the tacos de camarón a la plancha.
But on my most recent visit, I was disappointed. Each taco only had two shrimp, placed at the ends of a larger tortilla than before. The middle was just filled with coleslaw—so when you bite into the center, there’s no shrimp at all.
I brought it up to both the waitress and the manager. The manager confirmed that the tacos are now made that way—only two shrimp per taco is intentional, not a kitchen mistake.
I suggested they either add a third shrimp in the center or go back to the smaller tortilla they used to use. Right now, you get shrimp on the first and last bites, but nothing in between. Hoping they reconsider, because the flavor is still good—it’s just not a balanced taco...
