Puerta Vieja Restaurant — Restaurant in Houston

If I could I wouldn’t give them any stars at all, Today we wanted to go see Grupo Miramar perform, I called trying to make a reservation and didn’t pick up the phone. So I tried to do it online and apparently they declined my reservation. My mom called later at 8pm asking if there were any reservations available and they told her that they did had available and A LOT OF THEM, when my mom was trying to give a payment method through the phone they told her that they weren't going to take it until we were present at the restaurant. When we got there exactly at 10 the security and the girl in the front told us that they couldn’t take us because it was already full and had NO RESERVATION!!! Come on man!! Why are y’all telling us something over the phone and when we get there at the place they tell us something else. Y’all really have to get their info together and stop telling lies, because going back and forward it’s not something what a person really wants to do especially if the person is trying to spend their money at the place. I’m really disappointed and top of that they let 2 guys who was behind us in and said to the security that they didn’t have reservation. Honestly I find that BS. Obviously I’m not going back there. The food here is good! I enjoy it very much but the service is so bad. I always take care of my servers and I always tip 30 percent. Today like last time was another unfortunate experience not worth driving all the way here. The server I guess Cristina had mala gana. (This is when someone doesn’t want to be there or serve people) the food was taking a little longer than expected but they told us they had a lot of to go which is understandable not their fault. We had the server packaged to go and guess what not one fork or spoon to eat with. We are Salvi so we do eat with our hands lol but not when I have been working all Morning and haven’t had a proper hand washing. Also our order was wrong 😑. I was working so I couldn’t go back. I still ate the food because it’s good just not want I was craving.

I do enjoy the music they play but please I know it’s tough right now but hire people who are nice.

I have to give it 3 star the food was great but the service was awful, we waited a while for tables even tjo there was a few avaialable, the waitress never came to the table to ask if we needed anything, when ever we did see a waitress we would ask for assistants and she would say I'll be right back or I'll let your server know. Aside from that I ordered so xtra pupusas to take home and the lady brought it in a plate I asked for a togo box and she said all food ordered while dinning in had to be eaten at the resturaunt smh she could have said that before iI ordered xtra pupusas to go. And last but not least they thru the water in my baby's diaper bag away because you can not bring in any water and that water was for his formula. Unfortunately we wont be going back there because of those reasons, but if the vibe of the place music wise was really good to I just wish the service was better and that they would allow water for formula and togo boxes alot of food went to waste and on top we still had...
