This place is horrible. They leave their uncovered bakery items in the case overnight. What does that mean? Rats, roaches and bugs crawling over the items in the case: big, health code violation. How do I know this? I used to work for a gourmet bakery and all bakery items must either be thrown away or moved to covered containers and sold as “day old products”. I walk past it every night when I take my dogs for a walk and see the pests inside the bakery case. Disgusting business practices unless you want to get very sick.
August 2, 2018. I just saw the owner denying they have a pest problem because they leave their bakery items in the case overnight. I will take a photograph and post it here so the whole world can see the nastiness this bakery has in their establishment. Not only that, their dumpster is always overflowing with garbage because they don't close the gates on it. All of the neighborhood cats and dogs eat their meals out of the dumpster.
BTW, how racist of you to assume I am white.
December 2018 Well the bakery has new owners. Maybe they will paint the building and improve upon the overall quality and appeal. I will probably try the bakery again after they work out the kinks...
Read moreOh my goodness, I had been craving and searching for a delicious Cortadillo Pink Cake here in Houston forever. I grew up traveling to Corpus and San Antonio to visit family and we always stopped at their amazing bakeries. I had not found a bakery that did the pink cake the way I remember from my childhood until today! It’s delicious! A thick layer of soft moist cake and a thin layer of icing/glaze. It’s perfect! The couple who run the store were very nice too. My husband and daughter bought some other sweets, and they’ve loved all of them. My husband gave the pumpkin empanada an 8 out of 10 (he said it was 2nd to his favorite bakery in Corpus) and the pineapple empanada a 10 out of 10, he said it was the best he’d ever eaten. I took a bite, and he was right! We will definitely be coming back to buy more delicious treats in the future. I’ve already told my parents who are natives to Corpus Christi, and they are excited to venture out from Katy to La Reynera. I highly...
Read moreI love This hole in the wall mom and pop place.
The best time to go is Early mornings. Anytime between 630 - 930am. The breads are fresh and very warm. The coffee is Standard but good. It doesn't get in the way of the taste.
Best thing is the price. Dude when ever I'm near UH main campus I swing by there.
They make Fresh flour tortillas all day Long and no preservatives. I make my own tacos with them at home. And they're not greasy tortillas.
Whenever I swing by for just Bread I Get extra Pecan Muffins. And various bread Everyone of them good with coffee or chocolate milk. Great Stuff! Go By and Check them out.
I make no funds from my Posts I just want people to know where all the great food is at with Great prices. This Place does not Disappoint.
