Flores Neighborhood Library — Attraction in Houston

This is my neighborhood library. I have been coming here since i was a teen. I am now a parent. I really appreciate the renovations that were much needed. I like how it was kept simple and with children in mind. What I really like about this library is as smal as it is it was partitioned to keep the childrens area separate from the adults using the large books shelves as a wall and the partition out in the court yard with the railings. I feel safe bringing my littles here because of this partition throughout the library. I also love the touch screen games on the wall, the seating for kids and the little computer area for studying. Tablets are also available for checkout to use while you visit, which is pretty cool. I have always enjoyed the court yard even as a teen. It was my favorite place to chill, read or do homework and munch on a snack (because, no food allowed inside. OR i would visit Tampico's for a raspa and frito pie. IYKYK). Great place to sit and read! There are sections kids, teens, and adults. There are books, manga, comics, and magazines to read. If there is something you'd like to read but they don't have it, you can ask them to order it for you. There are also computers to use, and you can get help with them if needed.

Great workers, they were very polite and helped me find what I was looking for. There's also activities there. They had coloring pages and stuff to make wooden ornaments when I went there.

On top of that, there's events there such as board game days and live music....

Loved this lovely library.

This library is a little smaller than other Houston public library’s, and thereby has a little less election. However, the quaint ambience of this place was great if you ever want to go study, read, or exist somewhere without needing to pay anything. I love looking in their selection. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the employees there. Make sure you check the hours, they vary day today, and the day you were going might not be the day they are open late. I can’t recommend this library...
