I thought a lot before leaving this review, but I do so now in hopes that the owners will take action, improve things, so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. What my spouse endured shouldn’t happen to others. Last weekend, my spouse was rushed to the ER after eating here. I should have just left a bill and rushed out, but to top it all off the wait staff was nowhere to be found while we were trying to rush out. What officially happened was a type of food poisoning that also gives severe and life threatening allergy reaction symptoms. My spouse is not allergic to any of the items served and we’ve had those items at other Tex Mex restaurants for time and time again. I was also weak and ill for about 2 days, but despite all the doctor’s appointments my spouse is still not fully recovered. I leave 3 stars instead of anything lower because I know they’re just starting off and I wish them the best. However, the atmosphere needs work. The music was too loud. We couldn’t hear ourselves. It’s not meant to be a club. The AC either doesn’t work or needs adjustment because it was 80+ degrees in there. As the doctors explained, either the food is not of the best quality or it is not being cleaned and stored properly. These are all things that can be improved. I sincerely cannot give them a second chance as they placed my spouse’s life at risk, and luckily the Memorial Hermann down the street saved her life. I really hope things are improved, so that...
Read moreI went to dinner this week and I was very excited to have a new place to eat in my area. However I was left a bit disappointed when it came to the food. The restaurant itself looks fine when you compare it to other tex Mex establishments in our area it's lack luster which I'm surprised because they spent months renovating for it to look the same if not worse than berry Hill. I arrived at 515pm for happy hour with a friend we ordered off the happy hour menus margs and queso then when we were going to order the happy hour food our waiter told us that happy hour ended at 5pm meaning we were paying regular price for drinks and queso we thought we were getting a deal on. 3-5pm for happy hour when their other restaurant has happy hour until 630pm! It was a Tuesday why would it end so early. Fine we didn't order more drinking and I thought I would get the same thing I ordered at some of my other favorite tex Mex restaurants I got enchiladas. They weren't good and for $17 they were beef enchiladas and I'm not a chef so I can't tell you why I didn't like them but they needed more sauce and tasted like heartburn. The rice was not great either and the beans tasted fine... They were refried for the price I didn't get much food. The best part was the chips and salsa and their queso was good but again a big pricy for what it was. I probably won't return unless my husband wants to try it the food at Valencias and tia Maria's is so...
Read moreJust tried this place out just to see what it was about. I didn’t have any expectations but I can say I probably wouldn’t return anytime soon. The food is pricey for the amount you get. I was surprised at how skimpy the portions are & a little bland. I had the combo faijitas & my grandma had the Rio Grande. She couldn’t eat her ribs because they were so tough. She had to take them home & cook them more for her to eat them. I tried her shrimp that was on the plate & it almost didn’t have any flavor honestly. All I could taste was the smokiness. We had lamb chops as the appetizer & those were pretty small as well with only 3 but was wayyy more tender than the ribs. My fajitas were okay. Again with lacking flavor but when you combined everything together (rice, butter, beans, & guacamole) it made it a little better. Taste wise the best thing was the lamb chops. I just hate they weren’t big at all & it only came with 3. The air wasn’t working as well so it was a little on the warmer side. Wouldn’t recommend but hopefully they succeed since it’s still kind of new. Might try them...
