Oak Forest Neighborhood Library — Attraction in Houston

The library itself is really cozy and has lots of activities offered for children. It's well maintained and while I was there the ladies working front desk were very friendly and helpful. Lots of books I don't usually see at other libraries too. I have had really negative experiences as a result of this library however.

First time I visited with my baby, somebody hit my car and drove off. People were just parking any which way (I guess to drop their books off) and I suspect somebody doing that may have hit my front bumper. The other problem I have is with their changing and very inconvenient hours. I am a stay at home mom so my schedule is fairly open, but it's really annoying to have most other libraries open at noon only to go to this one to see it opens at 2. Not only that, the hours are incorrectly labeled on their building. I don't know how someone with a more rigid schedule could actually access this library. The limited hours might explain the packed parking lot and the packed and loud kids area while it is open.

These issues are not really the library's fault per se, but they are still super annoying. Watch out for your car in this shopping center and...

I never thought I would review a library but it has become too much not to say something. The staff are great, the place nice and clean as everyone has mentioned. But two important things I go there for are sorely lacking - the Wi-Fi and printing. I am never able to get a good connection and always have to end up using my hotspot which I understand is better for privacy, but when I go to the library, I go to use Wi-Fi.

And the printing is misleading and completely inefficient. You are forced to spend a dollar minimum no matter how many pages you print (and it says the pages are $.15) - so they're really only fifteen cents after the first 7 pages.

At the Harris County library, they give you a $1 worth of printing FREE EVERY DAY and the pages are only $.10.

Houston really needs to get...

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this Library location. If anybody does, please send them to me and I’ll try to talk some sense into them.

Cute, quaint, and quiet - this location doesn’t have the space, size, or selection that other libraries do. However, it’s so convenient in its location and the staff has always been so friendly in my numerous visits there that it doesn’t matter. Go to this library and you will continue to flourish and prosper with knowledge. It’s a place that I’m always comfortable and it’s nice to walk and around and exist without the need to pay for something. Instead, we can enjoy learning and further educating ourselves through...
