Great ramen bowls and sushi!

I made my second visit last night and will continue to return. The food is great, the service is excellent, and the price is just right.

The Tamashi's Menn bowl came with delicious pork and grilled shrimp, and was wonderfully savory. I also tried the Curry Tsukemen bowl, and it was so full of flavor that I could have died happy. The crunch of the fried kani was a fantastic compliment to the creamy broth and the cabbage soaked the flavor while providing another bit of crunchy texture. The soft-boiled eggs in both dishes were great additions. Seriously, check out the rest of the ingredients in these dishes, because there are a lot!

The sushi that we've had has all been fresh and delicious. The Houston Roll was a favorite, and my partner, who doesn't usually like cream cheese in his sushi, enjoyed the way it blended with the other ingredients in this roll. The Hot Papa roll was one of my favorites as I enjoy fresh, raw sushi with a little something spicy. My favorite roll of the night was the New Moon roll. The sweet chili sauce gave the roll a very light sweetness that enhanced the fresh fish and balance the spicy salmon and pepper tuna.

We had the Brussels sprouts and the chashu don 2.0 on our first visit, and we were pleased with both. The Brussels sprouts could have had a touch less sauce, but the pork was divine!

We also got the Mount Fuji Roll, and while we all liked it well enough, it was our least favorite. First of all, it's quite messy to eat as crunchy bits go everywhere. Also, the masago is rarely balanced with each bite because it is piled on in a pyramid structure with four pieces of sushi in two piles. I enjoy all of the ingredients; perhaps the structure of the presentation just wasn't the best for our tastes.

One other criticism I would add is about the tiny stools opposite the booths. They're very cute, but not comfortable to relax in. I don't mind sitting on a stool at a bar, but if I'm eating a lot, I want a back to my chair to lean into once I've stuffed myself! Not a big enough gripe to detract a star, from, though, especially considering how good the prices are.

Overall, this place rocks! I wish that they served alcohol, but sadly, they do not. I'll have to pre-game with the happy hour at the wine bar next door and go eat sushi and ramen to sober up again. Not a bad...

After reading the reviews I had to check this place out.

Went in for lunch at about 12:30 pm on Thursday and there were two people dining. I was politely greeted by a couple of smiling employees. They were courteous and quickly brought a menu followed by my drinks as I looked the menu over. They did not rush me even as the place started to fill with hungry clients.

I decided to go for their signature Tamashi Menn ramen bowl. Very pleased in my choice as it was delicious and filling.

The ramen noodles were cooked to perfection as was the chicken, shrimp, egg and more. The broth was very tasty but not spicy enough for my taste untill added hot sauce to kick the heat up after a few bites.

By 1 pm there were was only 1 table and 3-5 seats available.

The food was top notch and the service and prices are hard to beat.

I would recommend this place for Ramen and let you know when I try the fresh looking Sushi @ Sashimi. Look forward to...

There is no other Ramen place like this place! Their secret recipe for the Spicy Currey Ramen is like no other! I travel alot and have eaten at many many ramen restaurants and I have never came close to the heavenly, delicacy, mind blowing bursting flavors of their Spicy Curry Broth, and their noodles are perfectly homemade....you can taste they are freshly homemade! I have brought many many friends and family and they too are hooked on this place😁. And their Sushi is so yummy and filling and fresh! And No...I don't work here and have never worked here and I don't personally know anyone who works here, so this review is coming from my heart, soul, and taste buds! I want to share this place with everyone!! Please...please...please...go try out this place and have the Spicy Curry Ramen with the Kani! 😁...hint--I always order an extra Kani and extra Soft...

UPDATE: I emailed company (after I searched for the unpublished email address) and received a response from the general manager within 48 hours. She agreed it was a hazard and pledged to communicate with their employees to ensure it would not happen again. She also refunded the price of the ramen, which I had not requested. I found a piece of steel wire from presumably a steel wire scrubby in my tonatsu ramen. Almost choked on it. Called the store to inform them and was told by lady on phone that its happened before!! She just said “sorry about that.” I told her they should check their ramen to make sure this didn’t happen to any other customers and she could not have cared less. She offered me replacement ramen (no way) or store credit (hard pass lol). Don’t eat there. Disappointed cuz it’s right down the street from me.

I am so glad they opened a location in Oak Forest, outside the loop. We were craving ramen but did not want to drive into midtown or Bellaire or another overcrowded area. It's a quaint spot with enough seats and can accommodate a small group or family The menu is simple and price is reasonable. The food is awesome! Try their shrimp based ramen (Tamashi's Menn) for something different. I was expecting an overpowering shrimp flavor, but nope! It's well balanced and is good in the stomach. So much flavor and perfect size. The classic tonkotsu is a great choice. Kick it up a notch and get the hot. The chef makes his own chili paste. Also, there's a bit of nostalgia for any Houstonian that's lived in the area in 90s... This location is where the old radio shack used to sit.
