Ostioneria Michoacan — Restaurant in Houston

I’ve never had a problem there till today got there at 6:25pm waiter came a few minutes later to take drink orders, no chips/ salsa where brought to table waiter took our order and then brought to the waiters attention about the chips no problem fine, we placed our orders my husband ordered a soup , myself camarón botana/ unas de Jaivas my son a steak. My husband’s food came out first he was waiting for our food so we Can eat together my sons food comes out 30 min later and the waiter just kept telling me let me go get your plate every time he would come to table mind you it was past an hour already waiting I finally gave up and asked to cancel my order both my husband and son were done eating long time ago and all manager could tell me was kitchen was behind when the table next to us got an order of unas before me which I had already waited a long time and they had just got there But my point is if the kitchen is running behind don’t tell the customer I’m going for your plate I’m going for your plate it’s done let me go get your plate and you never come back with my food after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting bad service and communication if they would have been honest and said he the kitchen is running behind I would completely understand but don’t tell me you’re bringing my food it’s done and you never come back...

Terrible service! Our second time here every waitress will argue with you. Well my sister had everything on one tab. I ended up showing up with my family so we needed things to be separate it was a big issue! “I asked from the beginning if it was going to be separate” -waitress .... I stepped in said what’s the problem? You can’t go back and have different tabs. We go to the front in every tab (3) their was something wrong. The waitress tried to charge us for mash potato from a PLATE not a side but they clearly told my husband their wasnt any so we noticed it on the tab. they didn’t give us correct change so we had to go back and they tried to over charge my sister. They wanted to charge my brother for a drink because their was more than 6 people at the table that didn’t have an alcoholic vebrage. TERRIBLE SERVICE go somewhere else. The lady at the front wanted to argue after she asked me in Spanish what the issue was I said service in Spanish she didn’t understand so I asked if she knew English well why get offended if you can’t understand me in Spanish maybe in English you can? But I was arguing with stupid. It wasn’t...

The atmosphere is loud. Too loud for an infant, but ok for toddlers and up. The cacophony of sound made me anxious. I could hear music from the kitchen at full blast, the restaurant speakers playing different music, also loudly PLUS a band playing for tables who requested a tune. So, all the patrons of the place had to talk loudly to get above the noise. My family and I were ready to leave before the food came and requested our meals to go. The fajita tacos I ordered were just ok and my wife said the ceviche was so-so. The margarita I had before we left was watered down and basically tasted like sugary water with light tequila flavoring.

The icing on the cake: they had the TVs tuned to the local Spanish channel and the only thing we saw while we were there was an Infomercial of some cockroach killing paste. Not the kind of thing i want to see in a restaurant I'm already unhappy with.

Only saving grace was a friendly staff. Might try again when the baby is older. My parents like the place and recommended it, but...
