Painting with a Twist — Attraction in Aldine

Fun, positive instructors. Paints are quick dry water based though so you have to be careful storing & moving art later on. Paint will come off & stick to anything it leans against in the summer heat. So if you move, keep art work flat & in the air conditioning. I ruined one of my good ones this way. On the plus side the paint is easy for a beginner to use.

Minus one star because the class is like speed painting. You don’t get a whole lot of time to really sit with your work and get into details. I felt rushed. The place is small. Hopefully this business will catch on & they can move to a larger location. A nice small area for artists that want to sit & take more time on their work would be very nice. Some where to chill & complete art after the class.

Or perhaps offer open studio time for self creative works of art. No instructors, just like a receptionist or paint bar tender or something.

A good experience. Just come rested, arrive early & already mull over what you will paint, have an idea of what you are going for. Kind of get your creative juices flowing...

I have been to about 8 PWAT to date and this one by far was THE worst one ever! Didn't catch the micromanaging older black lady with the bob braids name but it was here and Jessie , Seems like it was Jessie's 1st day on the job the way she kept coming up to the podium telling her one thing after the other! Not to mention standing behind us but really not wanting help or be of any assistance....The vibe was just off....The music they were playing sucked... as soon as the white couple leaves she wanted to blast New Edition and Maze ...lol smh... she was definitely putting on for them...I have no problem with listening to a variety but she was definitely catering to them until the left.. Sketches were not done correct! They were rushed...I guess they thought we weren't coming! And decided to sketch as soon as we walked in! But they were not good enough of an artist to do a quick sketch! ...They were picking up stuff way before 9...They were clearly ready for us to gtf...Horrible! I'm so upset with this location and I will never in my life spend my money here....UGHH...

I'm not necessarily giving painting with a twist a 1☆. Its for the property management. A guest/patron at the painting with the twist venue was enjoying themselves until his car was broken into. This happen about 5 minutes +/- after they arrived (8:11pm). Unbeknownst to any of us this happens "often" on this property. How sad that this property management has NOT installed any form of deterrent i.e. cameras, security guard that starts sooner. Apparently Houston's fine criminals (sarcasm) knows what's not there and when security clocks in. People want to enjoy life and be safe. This should become the standard for this...
