definitely not worth the price for two. yes this place is opened late (12am) and the take multiple forms of payment which is why we decided to give it a try and bc it had a 4.4 rating. they guy was attentive in the form that he suggested a sea food like pho, but had i realized they didnt offer beef on the menu i would have suggested we bounce. we both decided to order two chicken pho and an order of 6pc egg rolls and two lemonades. passion fruit + a strawberry lemonade. both were super strong. it was like drinking straight syrup. yes we watered them down. once i got home. it was $4.95 a pop no refills. once the bowls got to the table presentation looks fair. not gonna lie the broth had a great flavor. what i wasn't use to was having a chicken cut up with bone and skin still attached to the chicken meat. that really threw me off only bc the skin looked sus and didn't have great favor. not that we were trying to chomp on that, to each their own. and i get that maybe thats what gave the broth its flavor but for $11.99 it really threw me off. the noodles had the same texture as the onion slivers which threw my visual off. i did have about a cup of the broth sipped down but that was it. the egg rolls were nice and hot, crispy good. and that was about it. those were about $7.99. we paid our tab and left. guy was busy prepping to go orders. we could of said something but i understand it just could of been a different variation of what we're use to considering we've had pho at MANY different place including around the area. im just speaking on my experience and just saying not what i expected. not my type of version. on...
Read moreI found it to be pricey like the other review. With that price, I think you should come late when other restaurants has been closed. So you may think it’s worth. Otherwise, there are plenty better and cheaper options to go for. So the price is the breaking point for us.
About the food, I ordered the dishes that highly recommended from the server - Bun Suong (B1) and Bun Dau Mam Tom. We’ve never tried Bun Suong before, so cannot say it’s good or bad. Just not our preference, we won’t order it again. Bun Dau Mam Tom is around $17, the ingredients themselves are fresh. However, they are not fully enough for a combo like other restaurants. So it is definitely expensive for that much food. About the drink, we ordered Dua Tac (Coconut Kumquat), it is very tasty for about $7-$8.
Some people call it “hidden gem” is exaggerating to me. I think I know why it’s empty.
Again, come here if you have no other options for a late night dinner/snack; and be aware...
Read moreThis place is such a hidden gem. Food is very flavorful and authentic. Place is clean, customer service is on point, plenty of parking in the front. Sadly, it's nearly impossible to see the restaurant from the busy Bellaire Street so it seems always empty even though their foods are amazing and really fresh. That's why I didn't know about this place until Phanh Ky moved next to them. I ordered chewy rice noodle soup (hu tieu dai) which I rarely see any other restaurants in Houston offered this dish. It was surprisingly good. Their chicken dish also looks very appealing. It tastes fantastic too: moist and tasty. Chicken with skin on, that's how you know how authentic the foods are, but I figured it may throw some people off. Anyways, highly highly...
