We had an incredible time at the RARE Steak Championship it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the energy was electric, and the crowd was much larger than we anticipated. Houston really showed up in full force for this event, and it was clear that people were excited to be there. The atmosphere was vibrant but still well organized, and the layout made it easy to navigate from one vendor to the next.
One of the best parts of the event was how welcoming and engaging the vendors were. Each booth had its own personality, and the people behind them weren’t just serving food they were sharing stories, explaining techniques, and genuinely enjoying the interactions. There was a real sense of pride in what they were offering, and you could feel the passion behind every bite. Whether it was a perfectly seared steak, a smoky brisket sample, or a creative take on beef with bold seasoning and flair, the food didn’t disappoint. There was an impressive range from traditional cuts to experimental dishes and everything was fresh, hot, and beautifully presented.
And let’s not forget the drinks. With unlimited food and beverages included in the ticket, it felt like a premium experience. There were craft cocktails, cold beers, and even some curated wine pairings, depending on the booth. It was easy to grab a drink between tastings and never once did it feel overly crowded or chaotic. Everyone was in good spirits (ha!) literally and figuratively and the lines moved quickly.
The event also had a nice mix of live music, upbeat vibes, and a casual elegance that made it feel special without being stuffy. People dressed up a little, but it was still relaxed enough to just enjoy yourself without worrying about appearances. We saw everything from foodies snapping photos to families enjoying a day out and couples savoring each other’s company while sampling top notch steak.
Overall, the RARE Steak Championship was absolutely worth attending. Between the fantastic food, friendly vendors, generous drinks, and high energy, it was an unforgettable experience. We’ll definitely be marking our calendars for the next one this has all the makings of a signature...
Read moreWell I finally made the trip to downtown Htown to visit the Post Houston and enjoyed the date. Yes, good date outing. I think I expected more but enjoyed the place. It is not as big as the hype but that’s okay. When you enter the first floor it’s mainly the food court section in the middle. It’s Like a mall food courts. A little something for everyone. Who is everyone? Well, local American and foreign. This I like because I like a variety. I saw hot chicken breast sandwiches to huge real meat hamburgers to Caribbean dishes to Thai dishes to loaded baked potatoes to whole fried huge fishes to Chinese food. There are deserts and two very nice bars serving up adult beverages! Big screen TVs playing the current big Saturday afternoon college football game. We visited on last Saturday around 3pm. People watching is the number one thing that was going on. I saw more national of people in one place than I have anywhere else in Houston other than the Zoo or Herman Park! On each side of the food court is other shops and businesses. You can head upstairs or to the rooftop for a chilled relaxing area and romantic view of the Downtown Houston Skyline. It was October so an Octoberfest was going on with pop up bars and food vendors serving small bites and beverages. There is seating up there and two ways of getting up there, huge stairs or by elevator. I took a few pictures of upstairs because I plan to paint that Htown Skyline! Now word of advice for the cologne and perfume place downstairs, stay clear. Over priced fakes that you can get on Amazon or elsewhere for $30-$40 cheaper! Magic word, fakes! Don’t let them tell you any differently. Just look closely at the boxes or scan the bar codes and compare online right there in front of them. Talk...
Read moreComing to POST is always a good time. I’ve been here several times for personal and work related events. You really cannot go wrong whether you’re here to chill with family and friends, casual meet up, date or a meal after a team building event. I’ve been here early, mid day and late in the evening and POST has never failed to impress.
Depending on when you show up and whether there are events taking place, parking can be tricky but most of the time it’s been very hassle free to find a good parking spot. Parking is paid online and very straightforward.
Most of the business inside the food hall are not surprisingly food related but there are a few niche shops in there like Houston Skateboards.
Even after being here several times and always with a large appetite, I haven’t come close to trying every restaurant in here. Some that I have and a quick rating are: ChòpnBlọk: Ambiance: Cultured, Service: Hospitable , Food: Exquisite Elotex: Ambiance: Conventional, Service: Apathetic, Food: Underwhelming Flower & Cream: Ambiance: Youthful, Service: Engaged, Food: Unicorn Tracks/I’ll Be Back IceIceBoba: Ambiance: Chill, Service: Cool, Drink: Refreshing Lea Jane’s Hot Chicken: Ambiance: Busy, Service: Fast, Food: Addictive YoYo Hot Dog: Ambiance: Delightful, Service: Connection, Food: Innovative I may have missed a few and I’ll definitely be back to cross a few more off my list.
I was here on Lunar New Year 2023 and it was live. Came back for a few work related events and then came to check out the Christmas Lights after going to the Houston Ballet. Always...
